BREAKING NEWS: COUNTERTERRORISM OFFICIALS ASKED STATE DEPARTMENT SPECIFICALLY NOT TO REVOKE ABDULMUTALLAB'S VISA

This should be a front page story everywhere if it is true. The Detroit News* is reporting that during testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security, Patrick F. Kennedy, undersecretary for management at the State Department said that intelligence officials asked his agency not to deny a visa to the suspected terrorist over concerns that a denial would've foiled a larger investigation. *

This along with previous admissions by authorities that a man helped the Christmas Bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, "change planes," a man who, according to witness Kurt Haskell, asked the ticket agent to let Abdulmutallab board without a passport because "we do this all the time," raise serious questions about the event.

In an intervew on prisonplanet.tv (3 minutes in) Haskell also claims that he has received an email from a dutch woman who collaborates his story of Abdulmutallab being escorted by a 'sharp dressed man.'

If Haskell's evidence were somehow false and Abdulmutallab did board with a visa (not revoked by the State Department on request by counterterrorism officials) then we would be perhaps dealing with a dangerous sting operation. A scandal in its own right.

But Kurt Haskell claims on Prison Planet that he witnessed Abdulmutallab trying to board the plane as a Sudanese refugee without a passport and with the help of a U.S. government agent.

It is theoretically possible that the second scenario which Haskell describes still represents only an elaborate sting operation and not necessarily an intentional false flag operation, but the difference between the two seems to be narrowing as the government in all scenarios went out of its way to help, or at least not to impede, Abdulmutallab in his actions.

Do you really believe this is not related to a desire to increase military aid to yemen, tighten airport security, and install body scanners?

If it turns out to be the case that the whole thing from start to finish was an organized false flag event created by individuals within as well as outside the government for the reasons above or other reasons, why should anyone be surprised? The government and corporate media lied to us about WMDs to start unnecessary wars. They have menaced us with apparently fake or misleading Bin Laden videos. They have deceived us about swine flu so Big Pharma can get rich, and they have lied to us about the economic bailout to enrich their friends. Their credibility is zero. They operate with a methodology reminiscent of organized crime or fascism.

"... the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

-Goering at the Nuremberg Trials

Terror suspect kept visa to avoid tipping off larger investigation

Nathan Hurst / Detroit News Washington Bureau

Washington --The State Department didn't revoke the visa of foiled terrorism suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab because federal counterterrorism officials had begged off revocation, a top State Department official revealed Wednesday.

Patrick F. Kennedy, an undersecretary for management at the State Department, said Abdulmutallab's visa wasn't taken away because intelligence officials asked his agency not to deny a visa to the suspected terrorist over concerns that a denial would've foiled a larger investigation into al-Qaida threats against the United States.

"Revocation action would've disclosed what they were doing," Kennedy said in testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security. Allowing Adbulmutallab to keep the visa increased chances federal investigators would be able to get closer to apprehending the terror network he is accused of working with, "rather than simply knocking out one solider in that effort."

The committee's hearing continues a series across Capitol Hill that started last week, all looking into the events leading up to and after the attempted bombing of Flight 253 over Detroit. Law enforcement officials say Abdulmutallab tried to detonate an explosive hidden in his underwear on board the flight from Amsterdam shortly before its landing at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus on Christmas Day.

Since the failed attack, criticism has swirled around leaders of the U.S. intelligence community who have indicated they were warned by the suspect's father about a month before the flight of a potential terror threat, but failed to stop Abdmutallab, despite other warning signs like the fact that he purchased a one-way ticket to Detroit with cash.

Politicians have also criticized the decision to treat Abdulmutallab as a civilian after the arrest in Michigan, with Miranda rights being read to him after less than an hour of interrogation and without input from the intelligence community.

Rep. Candice Miller, R-Harrison Township, the only Michigan House member on the Homeland Security Committee, said in a Tuesday statement that she planned to question officials on that matter at today's hearing.

Haskell's Account of 'Mysterious Indian' Helping Underwear Bomber Get On Flight Confirmed by Authorities

It's hard to find...but buried in this ABC News article is a confirmation by the authorities of Kurt Haskell's original claim that a mysterious 'Indian' helped the 'underwear bomber' board the Detroit flight and get through security without a passport by passing him off as a Sudanese refugee. The passport issue isn't mentioned but a 'man' who "helped Abdulmutallab change planes."

If someone from the inside is helping a terrorist get through security, as this now looks, you can have all the body scanners and security you want, he is going to get through.

More Indians and strange events observed by the Haskells on the Detroit flight were described also in this previous post.

A possible reason why 'Indians' might be involved can be found in this article which explains India's (as well as U.S.) geopolitical interest in Yemen. The Christmas Bomber has been used in the media and by politicians to validate new military aid to Yemen.

The Lion, The Sheikh, and the Warzone.

I'm following up Tolkein with C.S. Lewis. The common thread here is of course fantasy.

Which brings us right to the next topic: A new video of Osama Bin Laden with the funny introduction "From Osama to Obama." It's pretty short and basically just says that the 'underwear bomber' should convey the message that unless there is peace in Palestine, there will be none for America.
After looking alot at Bin Laden videos how do I know this is him? The voice sounds like a different person to me, a bit younger. There is only audio and no visual. It doesn't really sound like the voice in this video where Bin Laden's picture freezes when he talks about contemporary issues, which then again sounds different to this one.

Probably the strangest one of all is this one where he makes references to the 9/11 attacks. A german magazine found however that the Pentagon's translation of this video was not only inaccurate, but "manipulative" as explained in this article in english. The Bush administration also claimed the video was simply found in a house in Jalalabad. A bin Laden expert believes it to be bogus as well.

Of course the question of imposters was raised with the 2002 video here. And alot of people from Karzai to the FBI think he is dead here and also here and most importantly from the top American bin Laden expert here! It doesn't end there, Angelo M. Codevilla, professor, Foreign Service officer and senate intelligence expert says elvis is more alive the bin Laden. And you have U.S. Congressmen claiming that at Tora Bora the Bush Administration let him get away on purpose.

And then lets go way back, way back before all the hype and the wars....just as we were about to take that step into the wardrobe if you will...someone, not just someone, but a decorated intelligence veteran was saying this about Osama Bin Laden.

And of course even the FBI themselves don't specifically accuse Bin Laden of masterminding 9/11 as you can see here on their Most Wanted page. Rex Tomb, the FBI's Chief of Investigative Publicity said "The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden's Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11."

And even Dick Cheney admitted in 2006 that "We never made the case or argued the case that somehow Osama Bin Laden was directly involved in 9/11." Click here to hear the audio clip.

Wow. Somehow I had a different impression.

Many of these points are also covered in this excellent article or this one and throughout the web.

But in 2007 they were still talking about the Lion, the Sheikh...

If President Obama means to use the new Bin Laden video in his upcoming State of the Union speech as some have suggested, I would be surprised since the adminstration has not confirmed the authenticity of the tape.

In any case my favorite Bin Laden video is this one.

Handcuffs For Free Speech in Staten Island

If you are a corporation, don't worry. The U.S. Supreme Court is protecting your freedom of speech (see the post below). If you are an individual however and use your first amendment rights, you might get arrested. Read this article in The New York TImes about individuals who wrote letters criticizing the borough president of Staten Island and wound up arrested in one case and spending the night in jail in another.

The borough president in one case was called Guy Molinari, in the other James Molinaro. They kind of look alike too.

Democracy Game Over - The Nine Are Abroad

The recent ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court to allow corporations to donate at will to political campaigns in the U.S. by drawing on First Amendment rights intended for individuals is obscene. I'm not surprised however since my view of the state of this country is grim indeed. It seems as if these black robed agents of doom have truly decided that corporations 'deserve' rights at a time when individual rights are being taken away. The evil generation is pushing, pushing pushing...at all sensible foundations.

I know I've read all the opinions about how this represents "freedom" for the corporations. Who the hell wants to give giant corporations the power to advertise at will against their political opponents? Are you all mad? Yes you are. That's my opinion. Should corporations have voting rights as well? Why not just do away with democracy altogether and let the corporations rule over us completely? The only silver lining I have read about is where some claim that this law will change little since corporations already spend as much as they want for their candidates in covert ways anyway.

Corporations are for-profit organizations by nature. They are NOT individuals. The blurring of this obvious distinction seems to be more then just an intellectual mistake, but rather (like the FBI manipulation of Bin Laden's face to look like a political opponent) an in your face act of bravado evil, and a smiling admission of having sunk to new grotesque depths.

Justice Kennedy writes of a democracy for corporations in his majority opinion:

"Favoritism and influence are not … avoidable in representative politics. It is in the nature of an elected representative to favor certain policies, and, by necessary corollary, to favor the voters and contributors who support those policies. It is well understood that a substantial and legitimate reason, if not the only reason, to cast a vote for, or to make a contribution to, one candidate over another is that the candidate will respond by producing those political outcomes the supporter favors. Democracy is premised on responsiveness.”

He is speaking of a democratic responsiveness towards corporations, not individuals. The 'rights' of the corporation are his concern. One commentator describes this in an article in this way:

"according to the Supreme Court, when corporations spend billions manipulating elections and obtain the desired results, this is “democracy.” This Orwellian characterization of democracy could have been dictated by the hedge funds, financial institutions, insurance companies and pharmaceutical corporations that routinely inject billions into American politics in return for favors from both corporate-controlled parties."

Even if you believe the skewed and bizarre notion that corporations should have democratic 'rights', (And I can see the idiots making this brilliant point over a latte in the Harvard Law School cafeteria) still there is nothing democratic in letting them spend as much as they want. Individuals are limited as to what they can spend, why shouldn't Coke Cola, JPMorgan or Chevron also have limits?

Eugene Volokh says in a New York Times opinion section that corporate money has always been in politics anyway, in the form of media corporations. Sure, but that is bad enough! The corporations already control the media. Now you want them piling money into non-stop advertising to grease the wheels even more for their bought and paid for politicians?

It must be noted, despite how much the corrupted, weak and misguided fake democrats have caved in to lobby pressure in a thousand and one ways, it is the old seething bile mouthed brontosaurus of right wing fake conservatives on the court who are bringing on this totalitarianism of corporations.

One Ring to Rule Them All.

Ron Paul: We Need To Take Out The CIA

I wrote a post a week or two ago about the CIA after reading an article (written by a former CIA agent) in The New York Daily News lauding the CIA as "shadow warriors." I included a list of 'evil deeds' of the CIA written by Steve Kangas who turned up dead in the bathroom outside the offices of Richard Mellon Scaife, a CIA operative he was investigating. Check it out if you are unsure about all this fuss about the CIA.
Many of the early leaders of the CIA such as Donovan, Wisner, or Dulles had been Wall Street lawyers and the CIA has always maintained close contact with Wall Street. This continues even today as you can see in this New York Post article as they almost absurdly court the corrupt cream of today's financial crop. Perhaps that is why they often are seemingly enforcing the wishes of Wall Street on the world. They retain a close connection to the corrupt power brokers of Wall Street. In many instances, they are those power brokers. As Kangas says in his introduction to his time line:

"CIA operations follow the same recurring script. First, American business interests abroad are threatened by a popular or democratically elected leader. The people support their leader because he intends to conduct land reform, strengthen unions, redistribute wealth, nationalize foreign-owned industry, and regulate business to protect workers, consumers and the environment.
So, on behalf of American business, and often with their help, the CIA mobilizes the opposition. First it identifies right-wing groups within the country (usually the military), and offers them a deal: "We'll put you in power if you maintain a favorable business climate for us." The Agency then hires, trains and works with them to overthrow the existing government (usually a democracy). It uses every trick in the book: propaganda, stuffed ballot boxes, purchased elections, extortion, blackmail, sexual intrigue, false stories about opponents in the local media, infiltration and disruption of opposing political parties, kidnapping, beating, torture, intimidation, economic sabotage, death squads and even assassination."

In his follow up Kangas further explains:

"the CIA has regularly spurned alliances with defenders of democracy, free speech and human rights, preferring the company of military dictators and tyrants. The CIA had moral options available to them, but did not take them....The CIA has courted right-wing dictators because they allow wealthy Americans to exploit the country’s cheap labor and resources. But poor and middle-class Americans pay the price whenever they fight the wars that stem from CIA actions, from Vietnam to the Gulf War to Panama."

Michael C. Ruppert in this interview explains the connections between Wall Street and the CIA further if you need more proof.

Ron Paul calls them "A government unto themselves..."

Cheering For Jets Gets You Arrested.

Apparently cheering for the Jets is enough to get you arrested these days. Watch this video.

In an article the police claim the Jet fan was "arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and delaying or obstructing a police officer in his duties."

While we are on the topic of police, read here how some plans are being made for a military police force to be used overseas and also in the U.S.

Haiti: Bush And Clinton Reading Telepromter Together

Obama has asked former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton to co-chair the U.S. relief effort in Haiti. Watch as they read the telepromter together. It's moments like these where you can see how well these three operate together as a team, and as they have with few exceptions in recent history. Watch this video which claims they, along with George. H. W. Bush have screwed Haiti out of democracy for the last 20 years.

With Incredible Gall FBI Admits Osama Bin Laden Photo Made to Look Like War Critic Spanish MP

The FBI brazenly modeled their new Osama Bin Laden photo on Gaspar Llamazares, a member of Spain's Communist party and a critic of the US "war on terror" admitted FBI spokesman Ken Hoffman.

First just appreciate how significant that actually is. The FBI used a photo of a politician from the Spanish parliament critical of their 'war on terror' to create a mock up image of Osama Bin Laden. Does that sound like the actions of a credible organization?

Obviously if you have a crystal ball and a population trained to seek war against whatever image you put in that crystal ball, then why not? Why not put the image of someone from the political opposition in there as an insulting jab, or perhaps to even subconsciously blur the lines between politcal opposition and terrorists?

Soon we will have many images of villians to be despised as, just like in the fictional movie Running Man, an enormous TV screen will be built in Times Square to show the dumb downed masses an image of their supposed enemies.

In Orwell's famous novel 1984, the population is persuaded to hate whichever group (first Eastasia, then Eurasia) the ruling elite wish to wage war on (the war is also perpetual, keeping the population controlled in a constant state of fear) and additionally the image of Emmanuel Goldstein, defender of individual liberty, is used as the symbol to which "Two Minutes Hate" is directed as his image is displayed every day on the "Telescreens."

The FBI have introduced one scheme yet better. Change the face of the villain, thus enabling the villain's face to suit the needs or fancies of those who control it.

For those new to the truth, you might also wish to look at an analysis of reports here of Osama Bin Laden meeting with the CIA prior to 9/11 and also here to the testimony of an FBI whistleblower that branches of our government had an "intimate" relationship with Al Qaida right up until 9/11.

If you prefer satire, here is a clip showing what Bin Laden's Hollywood production team might resemble...

Obama Information Czar Sunstein Sees a Place for Government Ban of Conspiracy Theories.

Cass Sunstein, and he does have a sunny smile, states on page 14 of his research paper entitled "Conspiracy Theories" that a government ban of conspiracy theories "...will have a place under imaginable conditions." The paper is easily downloadable to anyone and openly states that clamping down on free speech, or speech critical of the government or its corporate partners is foreseeable. I guess he truly is a Czar, and we the peasants dare not have opinions which question 'their information.'

He opens his paper with polls showing that literally half of New Yorkers and a third of U.S. citizens believe that 9/11 was in some way an 'inside job' or involved some elements of the U.S. government having foreknowledge or aiding the terrorists. So Sunstein in his boldness imagines these opinions can be banned? What a horrible place this country might be becoming, where the population has not even the right to question their own government and their official stories?
As if people in power never conspire to control events? Are these people insane or do they just think we are stupid and helpless? I think probably the second of the two.

One day, just blogging about what you believe to be true might be illegal in the USA, if Mr. Sunstein gets his way.

That's not all, in fact most of the paper is about something called "Cognitive Inflitration." On page 22 of his amazing paper he discusses the usefulness of having government agents either impersonating anonymous users of chatrooms and message boards or even taking on "false identities" in an effort to "undermine percolating conspiracy theories." Wow. I get it. Not just banning conspiracy theories is a good idea, but also conspiring to undermine their belief. In other words, create a new (and very real) conspiracy of the government to persuade people that conspiracies are false. Haven't we had enough with the government meddling in what we believe through the pentagon control of so called "independent military experts" to present the government military position on mainstream news programming? Or even Operation Mockingbird a long lasting CIA operation to infiltrate the media? Oh sorry Mr. Sunstein, I guess it's illegal to talk about THAT it's a CONSPIRACY, RIGHT?

What this all represents is that the government has realized it is losing the opinion battle with a public armed with facts and information taken from uncontrolled sources on the internet. Mr. Sunstein is desperately trying to give the government the chance to be able to control public opinion again, and Obama apparently likes that idea. Boy for some must those tears of joy on his inauguration now burn with the realization that Obama and his team of establishment power dorks in every possible way aspire to continue the destructive top down manipulation the previous republican administration was known for.

By the way, here is a link for the zogby poll stating that half of New Yorkers believed in 2004 that some elements in government had foreknowledge of 9/11 and purposefully did nothing to stop it. 66% also wanted a new probe. That's a clear majority calling for a new probe, but you can be sure there hasn't been one. I guess those 66% should be outright banned from even daring to think their government might not be just angels from heaven.

See the News Americans Are Not Supposed to See.

Just to demonstrate how much our news is filtered, I will give you two small examples where Europeans are being allowed to find out about things which the media in America will not allow to come out. The first is dramatic, but the second is even worse. If things continue, eventually you will have people in Europe believing a completely different reality then what people believe in America.

Example 1.

Here is an example of an article and below it a video clip of a news program from Channel 4 News in the UK about the recent revelations that swine flu is really a profit making scam. You won't find this kind of coverage on CNN, at least if they can avoid it. It's like expecting a wolf to warn you first that it wants to eat you, before it does.

Example 2.

This one is really alarming because of what it suggests. An international scientific report was done on WTC dust and found residue of military explosives in the dust. Obviously if this is true, and I have seen nothing to prove that it isn't, it should be shouted from the mountaintops as it would change 100%, and overnight, the actions we are taking as a nation. Of course you won't see this on CNN. You won't read about it in The New York TImes either, at least for a while yet. Maybe you don't want to see this, but here it is on the evening news in Denmark.

Bush Pizza

Hats off to this man who cursed at Bush. If we had more people like this perhaps this country could become a good place again. He also received a visit from the Secret Service for speaking his mind. I think Zionist was a poor choice of words which the man used since the evil of the Bush family and the neo-conservative movement is not the same thing as Zionism as far as I understand it. Nonetheless I am sure it was no pleasure to wait around in this pizzeria to let this decrepit old man know what filth he actually is, and he spoke out. Good for him. Anger is not always a bad thing. If it is directed towards those who commit wrongdoing it has a place. I am sure there are many out there who try to live comfortably with the new strain of militarism and delusion in America which has risen in the last decade since 9/11, but obviously some are not going to keep quiet about it and watch college football.

Good for you.

BIG NEWS: EURO HEALTH CHIEF SAYS SWINE FLU A SCAM!

Perhaps there is yet hope for civilisation, at least some are calling a spade a spade and crawling out from under the disgusting web of dumb corporate manipulation and corruption we live under. Too bad we had to pour out so much money to these scumbags first before we realized what was going on. Maybe we can suck some of the money back through lawsuits. At least the truth is being revealed.

Read here how Wolfgang Wodarg, head of health at the Council of Europe has "accused the makers of flu drugs and vaccines of influencing the World Health Organisations's decision to declare a pandemic. This led to the pharmaceutical firms ensuring 'enormous gains', while countries, including the UK, 'squandered' their meagre health budgets, with millions being vaccinated against a relatively mild disease."

Notice how also in the article in disgusting pig like fashion the UK Department of Health says that "although the disease appears to be on the wane it cannot rule out a third surge and urges all those entitled to the jab to have it." Nothing here is also being said about the health risks of such a 'jab.' No mention is made that with every vaccine there is a small bit of thimerosal poison injected into you. Read here and also here what happened in Sweden for the sake of the drug companies profits.

-UPDATE: Read also this post concerning reports of nerve diseases after vaccine shot in Canada and elsewhere.-

Nonetheless, corporate newspapers like the New York TImes are still encouraging you to get the 'jab.' I guess that isn't too surprising since Raul E. Cesan former president of pharmaceutical corporation Schering-Plough sits on their board of directors. Schering-Plough just happens to be one of the makers of swine flu vaccines.

Still it seems like big news, if it gets through the corporate news net, that an important european health official is now calling swine flu a scam.

I would say it won't be long before the same is said about the body scanners, after we've squandered millions on those, and the wars we fight as well. It's my opinion we live in an age ruled by a corrupt generation who believes in self-serving greed as the most powerful force in the universe, and manipulation of the public, the road with which to get to their nirvana of wealth and power. That has always been around, but today the green slime of corruption is simply leaking from all corners as we descend deeper into economic misery and political tragedy.

CIA, XE, the 'Shadow Warriors' and their Zombie Lovebuddies

I am going to turn attention away from the Underwear Bomber for a second to settle a score that needs desperately to be settled. I keep running in to writers trying to defend the CIA these days. I was trying to read of all things, an apocalyptic zombie novel, when I came to the author suddenly defending the CIA on page 46. I couldn't bring myself to read anymore of it. But moving on quickly from talentless zombie novels to something much more important. I went to the newstand today and since it was Sunday, I had a choice of two lousy newspapers, one The New York TImes, miserably overpriced at 5 dollars, and the other The Daily News for $1.25. I chose the Daily News. I was reading the Daily News and came across an article saying bluntly in the headline "Honor America's shadow warriors." The article goes on to rebuke a hostile attitude towards the CIA, eventhough it mentions that the "CIA officers lost in the Chapman bombing have received atypically positive covereage." He is refering to the apparent recent killing of CIA agents and XE Services(formerly called Blackwater) officers by a double agent from Jordan at Forward Opereating Base Chapman in Afganistan on December 30th. Firstly Blackwater, as the name poetically implies, is a dark organization of mercenaries used by the CIA for security, or even as a paramilitary force or assasination squad, and they have a reputation of lawlessly killing civilians. Let's hope they are never deployed in great number in the U.S. According to the Daily News I am supposed to "honor" these "shadow warriors." Also in a small inset is shown the deaths of CIA agents over the years, the sum total of which according to the inset doesn't get above 100. That's not to say that isn't still alot but when compared to the roughly 6 million killed in secret wars funded or organized by the CIA, I lose the ability to shed tears.

Here is a good list of CIA evil deeds. Sadly the author of the list himself, Steve Kangas, was found dead in the 39th floor bathroom immediately outside of the offices of a right wing financier who worked with the CIA who he was investigating. I wonder if the Daily News will publish an article telling us to honor him?

Nevermind....check out this list and you will find it hard to find something to "honor" on this list of CIA accomplishments.

Thought Provoking Article Might Help Explain Yemen and 'Sharp Dressed Indian'

If you believe what M K Bhadrakumar has to say then what just happened with the Christmas Bomber and the recent U.S. military involvement with Yemen isn't just about fighting some nebulous Al-Qaida presence but has alot more to do with containment of China. His article in Asia Times is fascinating for those of us just getting the crafted propaganda of mainstream news and perhaps could even put in a new context reports of all these Indians around the Christmas Bomber. Here is a link to my previous post about the Indians.

Invasion of the Body Scanners.

ehh...yeah so let's disregard the statements by some and also well described here that the new body scanners wouldn't have identified the Christmas Bomber anyway....because like...we don't care, we trust our government. I hope everyone bought Rapiscan shares, best profit making scheme since pharma made billions from the swine flu.

Evidence Deliberately Withheld?

Come, come...that's no way to fight a war. We can't have this talk about our security agencies this way, as if they would deliberately endanger the country they are supposed to protect. How will this unpatriotic talk help us invade new countries and steal resources and prop up dictators and increase defence spending and help our neocon defence conglomerates and consulting firms? We can't have this kind of investigation! What will great heroes like Lieberman and Cheney say to that, so unmarred by any speculation of wrongdoing, so pure in the soul and in the mind! No No, how dare these wobbly knee liberals talk of corruption at a time like this, when we should be throwing money at new defence investments and making a big splash of it, this is a war after all. A WAR!!!!

Well, if that isn't how you feel, you might want to look at this clip where towards the end Olbermann's guest suggests there could have been a deliberate witholding of information in the christmas bomber case. Now why would anyone think that? Just because his father was trying to warn the security services, doesn't mean anything does it? I mean they can't be expected to react to a real threat can they?

Mr. Homeland Security, Peddling his Wares?

Michael Chertoff, everyones favorite Homeland Security Secretary, who gave those great reassuring press conferences during Katrina, is now giving TV interviews on the necessity of body scanners in airports. Of course his Chertoff Group, a security consulting agency, includes a client that manufactures the machines, namely Rapiscan Systems.

Read the article here.

He's Checking His List, He's Checking it Twice....

Some will receive presents from the Christmas Bomber in the way of rising stock shares, others in the way of military aid.
Shares of OSI Systems, the parent company of Rapiscan, one of many manufacturers of body scanning technology rose 10%. Yemen military assistance more then doubles.

Matthews: Beware Second Pair of Explosive Underwear and Kung Fu Terrorist

Chris Matthews knows there might be more pairs of explosive underwear out there. He also knows something about Kung Fu terrorists. I hope Lieberman and Cheney have something up their sleeve to stop the Kung Fu threat.

Sudanese Without Passport Red Herring?

Another passenger on the flight has suggested there was a young man of near identical appearance to the bomber, accompanied by some kind of airport employee. This MIGHT explain the 'Sudanese' Mr. Haskell saw at the Amsterdam airport. Haskell himself passes on this information on his blog.

Alhaji in Visa Land

Here's a thought for you. A runaway 23 year old on a terror watch list, traveling through several third world nations, with explosives in his underwear and reportedly trying to board as a sudanese refugee without a passport can travel to the U.S. His father however, former chairman of the FIrst Bank of Nigeria, was denied a visa to find his son in Yemen when he believed he had gone astray or 'became radicalized.'

Here is the article.

Ron Smith, Customs Officer, Solves the Case.

Ok. Chief Customs Officer Ron Smith solved the case. Those mysterious Indians were apparently from another flight. Whew. Glad that's over. Now lets get those body scanners in the airports and begin those war plans for Yemen.

Here is the email he allegedly sent on December 31st, to reporters and also to the Haskell's, the eyewitnesses of the mysterious Indians of preceding posts.

All,
Good Evening,
Thank you for your patience and accuracy in reporting the events of December 25 at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Everything we have talked about has been accurate concerning these events
That being said I have just received a piece of information that I did not previously have and hope it will clear up this matter.
As I have explained, there were no other passengers from flight 253 arrested or detained. The eyewitness accounts coincided with a separate issue concerning a passenger from a separate flight arriving at the airport. That passenger was escorted from the arriving plane to the CBP area. He was handcuffed at that time and could have been observed by the passengers from flight 253.
This still remains true; however, I now know that a passenger from flight 253 did have a canine alert to his carry on baggage in the baggage area of the CBP facility. He was placed in handcuffs and escorted to an interview room where he was interviewed and searched. There was nothing found during that search. Following the negative search results he received an explanation of why he was searched. He thanked the officers for doing their job and departed the facility along with the other passengers from flight 253.
I can not provide any other information about the individual because again, he was not arrested or detained and we have to protect his privacy.

So after several witnesses came forward about the handcuffed indian, Mr. Smith admits now finially he existed, but was from a different plane. He also now admits there was a second man from the flight who had a 'canine alert' and was handcuffed and interrogated and later released. Oh but wait...apparently Ron Smith has yet another version of events! In this article in Detroit News published yesterday he is stated as saying:

"A sniffer dog reacted to agricultural or food products inside the bag of a third man, who was off yet another flight, Smith said. He was questioned and may have had some items confiscated but was not arrested, Smith said. Smith could not identify the flight number for the man found with prohibited food or plant products."

Oh wait a second, so now he wasn't from flight 253 but from another flight? A flight which you can't identify? Ah, I see. Ok let's bomb Yemen. I trust you.

Lori Haskell however continues to defend their account of the man with the 'canine alert' in the article:

I walked off the plane with the individual," who was later arrested, Lori Haskell said. "He was standing around 15 to 20 feet away from us ... the entire time."

The original email above from Mr. Smith as well as other portions of the Haskell's defence of their account can be found on their blog.
