Embedded Tenants

According to this article in the Austin Business Journal, it is the 9430 Echelon Building which was hit by the small airplane in Austin.

If the IRS is the reason Stack crashed his plane into the building, why are there so many tech businesses at the Echelon Building (9430) which relate to his line of work? Remember his website was called and he was a software engineer working presumably with embedded systems.

LNB Technozant – computer software
Axxis Tehnology Marketing Inc. – tech company representative
Consystant Design – embedded software design
Apptelligence – electronics /computer software
Advanced Technical Resources - silicon valley technical staffing Company.
Panasonic Industrial Company - electronic components
Cyrusone - high performance computing
Austin Sensors - apparently they work on things like a Fast Pulse Electron Gun, and sounding rocket experiments at White Sands Missle Range. Not sure what this one is all about if it is even a company.
Dorado Software - once again a tech/software company, and again a Dell connection. "Dorado's customers represent the leaders in finance, manufacturing, telecommunications, and a variety of industries around the world. In addition, thousands of satisfied companies such as Dell computers utilize Dorado Software via OEM relationships."
Phoenix Technology - embedded systems
Duet Technologies Inc. - "a leading provider of networking software..."
Coware Inc. - Electronic System Virtualization
Catalyst Consulting Group - "Catalyst has found synergy and success in combining the concepts of IT Services and Management Consulting. We employ only those engineers and technical professionals who can grasp the broader objectives of our clients and who appreciate the value of a controlled development process."
The Pinnacle Group - IT Hardware, Software, Networking Solutions and Services
And this isn't tech but I'll add it because of the interesting name:
JFK Home Movers

I would like to also add to this list the Echelon Corporation (Embedded Control Networks) but it might not be related and has no Research Blvd. address.

Who does however have a Research Blvd. address is the Binswanger Glass Company. Remember Robin De Haven, the hero with the ladder? That's his company. I don't remember him mentioning that his company had an address at the Echelon Building. It isn't on the Binswanger website either, but appears on the google list of addresses in the photo below.

At the 9420 Echelon address we also have :

Message One, Inc - A subsidiary of Dell Inc., "provides business continuity and disaster recovery solutions."

Fairchild Semiconductor - tech company, acquired Raytheon semiconductor division, history of military contracts

Enfinet Media Corporation - computers and internet electronics.

Travelogix - software development company

Echelon Holdings Ltd - What is this? According to Manta it is "a private company categorized under Non-Bank Holding Companies and located in Austin, TX. Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of $80,000 and employs a staff of approximately 2."

Two people (approx.) who make $40,000 each annually and have a building complex named after them?

and the FBI!

I was unable to find any information on the IRS at these addresses other then the news reports after the plane crash.

Maybe the reason so many tech and computer companies are located in the Echelon building complex has something to do with its history. According to the original tenant of the Echelon I building that recently went up in flames was none other then Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corp., a computer research consortium headed by Bobby Ray Inman, former Director of Naval Intelligence, former Director of the National Security Agency, former Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and on the Board of Wackenhut and also SAIC, a corporation which seemed to foresee both the '93 WTC bombing and the anthrax mailings of 2001.

Still sure this is about the IRS?

Jim Rogers: "UK Pound is on the Brink of Collapse"

Riding in the wake of the news of Buffet business partner Charlie Munger claiming that "it's basically over" for the United States economy, we now have billionaire Jim Rogers foreseeing a possible collapse of the UK pound in the near future. It looks to be an interesting year.

Update: He now claims he didn't quite say what was reported.

The Little Piper That Could...I Think I Can...I Think I Can

In a new USA Today article, Congressman McCaul (R-TX) said of the recent Austin plane crash "This little Piper caused devastating damage — it almost brought the entire building down."

I guess the Congressman, certainly familiar with the official story of 9/11, was awaiting a full pancake collapse of the massive steel building, since as we know after 9/11 steel melts from fires and quickly collapses into a pile of dust.

The Congressman also has fears Al-Qaeda terrorists, now encouraged by the actions of our IRS tormented antihero, will take the initiative themselves to follow in the wake of the Austin crash with their own private plane attacks.

Enjoy the USA Today article in all its glory.

Joe Stack, Austin 'Suicide' Pilot, Co-owned Hangar With Homeland Security Initiative Program Manager?

Here is the document I originally found linked from a page on the Austinist website:

Who is John Podolak?

From the L-3 website:

John Podolak to Oversee Transition of Team’s Anti-Missile System to Commercial Applications

AUSTIN, Texas, February 25, 2004 - AVISYS, Inc., a defense technologies and system integration company, today announced John Podolak as the infrared countermeasure (IRCM) program manager for its Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Counter-MANPADS (Man-Portable Air Defense Systems) initiative. Podolak will oversee a strong team of more than 10 IRCM defense suppliers who will perform research studies and lead the transition of the team’s proposed CAPS (Commercial Airliner Protection System) technology to the airline industry.

In keeping with an “airline-centric” solution, Podolak brings a wealth of commercial aviation experience to the United Airlines (OTCBB: UALAQ: OB) led team. The team was one of the three companies awarded a $2 million contract in early January by the DHS Counter-MANPADS Special Projects Office. The award represents Phase I of a two-year, $100 million DHS research and development program to design and demonstrate infrared countermeasures) against the potential MANPADS missile threat to U.S. commercial airliners. AVISYS is the IRCM technology lead and systems architect for CAPS.

"Having led teams that load and maintain expendable countermeasures (ALE-39) and having trained pilots to defensively employ them, John Podolak is the perfect choice to lead the transition of this technology to the airline industry with our team," said Ron Gates, president of AVISYS, Inc. "CAPS provides an affordable and highly effective countermeasures capability for both wide- and narrow-body aircraft. John and his experienced IRCM team will help prove CAPS is the best solution for DHS and the commercial airline industry."

Podolak is a veteran pilot of two major airlines, having flown several U.S. commercial aircraft including the A-320 and B-727. As a former naval officer flying the S-3B Viking, Podolak served as a Weapons Training Officer and as an Avionics/Armament and Quality Assurance Division Officer.

"Our team is a highly qualified mix of companies experienced in all aspects of the aviation industry and in airborne self-protection systems," said John Podolak, IRCM program manager for AVISYS DHS Counter-MANPADS Program. "We will work to define a system design and implementation approach for our CAPS solution while being sensitive to the demands of airline operations."

A Naval Academy graduate, Podolak recently served as a reservist at Central Command during the Iraq war. Since then, he has been serving as a program manager in support of AVISYS Air Force operations in San Antonio, Texas. Podolak is also a flight instructor and an award winning aerobatic and glider pilot with experience in over 50 different aircraft.

On the Prison Planet Forum was also a link to this:

i.e. the last flight recorded on this webpage (which apparently tracks flight transponders)with the plane N2889D (alleged Austin crash plane) was on August 6, 2009. As FreeinTX wrote on the Prison Planet Forum page "This plane may still be in a hangar at GTU."

Also another link posted by the DukeOfDorch on the ATS message board also revealed a similar webpage of recorded flights.

Malware In Use

I didn't want to mention it at first, as I thought it might just be me. But now I have come across someone else on another board who noticed it as well, so out with it.

If you do many searches on google investigating the case of Joe Stack and the Austin crash you will find yourself running in to malware and viruses set up along your path. Try googling "echelon building tenants austin" and you get something like this:

or sometimes like this:

If you click on some of the middle ones you get a virus or malware program of some sort which requires a bit of clicking to get rid of. It might look like this:

After which some program begins doing something. A few clicks and it's gone however.

Other times searching for similar Joe Stack and Austin crash or echelon related info I got a virus program that looked like this:

If you have also been having these problems, leave a comment. I have never had this particular problem before and so I took notice of it, especially after I found someone else complaining about it on another board doing 'Stack' research.

Any computer experts out there might have a better idea about it then I.

Last Straws And Loose Ends

Joe Stack played in several bands in Austin. One was called "Last Straw." In an AP article carried by the New York Times and others we learn of Simone Wensink who was the singer of the band and had flown with him to New Mexico. "I felt like totally safe with this man,'' she said.

In a Los Angeles Times article entitled Austin pilot 'was always even-keeled' we learn of bandmate Billy Eli who had this to say of Stack: "Anger was not even 1% of what that man was," Eli said. As for politics and policy, "he wasn't passionately married to any of that stuff."

From another AP article:

Stack's daughter from his first marriage, Samantha Dawn Bell, said the Web manifesto didn't sound like the father she knew.
"It's not him. The letter itself sounds like it's coming from a different person," she said in an interview from her home in Norway.

But meanwhile on Fox news, the sense of bewilderment is replaced with unfurled flags and the adoration of the American hero who used his ladder to save trapped people from the massive towering inferno strangely created by a small single engine plane.

You have to smile a little as the newscaster says things like "a guy who happens to work for a glass company, who happens to be on the scene of chaos, and climbs up HIS ladder, to rescue five people out of a burning building. Robin Dehaven joins me now on camera. Robin, what a pleasure to lay eyes on you." Notice how she remembers to squeeze in that he is a 'father' and 'served in the military' at the end. Reminded me a little of Kimberly D. Munley, the hero of Fort Hood. This is the manner in which she was described previously in a Daily Mail article:

Mother of one Sergeant Kimberley Munley confronted gunman Nidal Malik Hasan and, despite being wounded in both legs, brought him down with four shots.
One of the shots cut an artery in her leg, leaving blood pumping out but she still managed to keep firing before collapsing.
Medic Francisco Delaserna applied a tourniquet to Sgt Munley as she drifted in and out of consciousness because of blood loss.
'I cut her trousers open, tied a tourniquet around her thigh and stopped the bleeding. But she had already lost a lot of blood,' he said.

Only later did we find out that according to a witness it was someone else who actually shot and brought down Hasan, as covered in this New York Times article.
Well, I guess she brought down Hasan about as much as Jessica Lynch went down fighting (her rifle jammed) with the Iraqis, which is good enough for the Army. Dehaven sounds honest enough and his story plausible though so let's move on for now.

Back to the Fox video. Big fire in the background isn't it? I guess it's just in the luck of the draw since sometimes it ends up like this:

That photo is from this article about another less explosive crash. In fact a piece on KXAN of Austin below shows that experts are questioning how so much fire was caused by such a small plane. So now there is mention of a possible 'fuel drum' aboard the plane.

A new audio has surfaced on youtube, which is unverified, but seems to show the audio recording of Mr. Stack speaking with the control tower before his last flight.

Here is what some claim is his voice mail.

Another Los Angeles Times article also mentions an interesting fact:

Despite his financial ups and downs, Stack did well enough to indulge his interest in flying. He obtained his first pilot's license in 1994 and had owned a costly Velocity Elite XL-RG plane in addition to the Piper.

One is listed here on the web as selling used for $119,500. His 1979 Piper Dakota N2889D already posted on Political Friendster might have also have cost him as much. See price list.

In his 'Manifesto,' another thing confounds me. In a tone of slight hysteria, he seems to claim that after 9/11 his business prospects were down the drain.

Then came the .COM bust and the 911 nightmare. Our leaders decided that all aircraft were grounded for what seemed like an eternity; and long after that, ‘special’ facilities like San Francisco were on security alert for months. This made access to my customers prohibitively expensive. Ironically, after what they had done the Government came to the aid of the airlines with billions of our tax dollars … as usual they left me to rot and die while they bailed out their rich, incompetent cronies WITH MY MONEY! After these events, there went my business but not quite yet all of my retirement and savings.

How can this be since from his client list and our last post we know he was working to a large degree for defense contractors?

Have a look at a what a defense expert says of the industry within which Stack was operating and how it fared after 9/11.

The defense companies are sitting extremely well right now. They have just come off nine years of tremendous growth, they all have great balance sheets, and they all have been buying back their own stock and are sitting on a ton of cash. With the projections going from 30,000 troops in Afghanistan at the beginning of 2009 to 100,000 over the next six months, Afghanistan is going to grow while Iraq is going down in terms of the number of troops. So overall funding and appropriations are going up for the defense group, which is a positive.

And finally Prison Planet and many others are reporting that from the code of the Microsoft word file of the Manifesto it can be clearly seen that the document was revised 27 times in two days, having started the Manifesto on the 16th of February. This seems to clearly contradict with the Manifesto itself which says he worked months on it in the third sentance.

The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken.

Joseph Andrew Stack Had 9/11, NSA, and Homeland Security Related Defense Contractor Clients

(Updated 24/2/10)

The client list from the software programmer believed to have crashed his plane into the Echelon* building in Austin Texas reads like a guidebook to defense contractors with connections to 9/11, NSA and Homeland Security.

The FBI had his webpage removed (the screen message previously said that the FBI had it removed) from the internet, but of course the client list from the webpage has been archived. As first discovered by Cryptogon, the client list has corporations on it such as Interstate Electronics Corporation, which needed Mr. Stack's help on developing a GPS-based Fight Management System of all things. IEC is a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 which is a defence contractor with obvious Homeland Security and NSA connections. There is also this report from Wayne Madsen on Oped News of an L-3 consultant to the NSA who had watched a live feed of the first 9/11 plane impact as it happened. L-3 is included among corporations which were investigated by the SEC for unusual stock put-options in relation to 9/11.**
Cylink Corporation***, another on Mr. Stack's client list had as it's Chief Executive Officer, William P. Crowell who "came to Cylink from the National Security Agency, where he held a series of senior positions, including Deputy Director of Operations and the Deputy Director of the Agency. From 1989 to 1990, Crowell served as a vice president at Atlantic Aerospace Electronics Corporation, now a subsidiary of Titan Systems, leading business development in space technology, signal processing and intelligence systems."
Hughes Aircraft, one of Stack's clients, developed the ground mission control segment of the Global Hawk. Another Stack client, Teledyne, is the prime contractor for the Global Hawk, and L-3 supplied its communications system.****
Other clients on the list such as DMC Stratex Networks, AEI Kongsberg and Sorrento Electronics appear also to be defense contractors and probably a closer examination of these and other corporations on Stack's client list will reveal more interesting details.

*Note: the name echelon itself refers to a "signals intelligence (SIGINT) collection and analysis network" coordinated by the NSA.

Update: see also Joe Stack co-owned hanger with Homeland Security Initiative Program Manager and Embedded Tenants

**As if that weren't enough, L-3 is among corporations cited by Elliot Spitzer as "having been used by Wall Street brokers in “pump and dump” schemes which cost unwary investors tens of millions of dollars" according to Mad Cow Morning News. Also from Mad Cow we learn that Titan Corporation, a subsidiary of L-3, invested in SkyWay Aircraft, a phony company according to Hospicker, whose DC9 was caught with 5.5 tons of cocaine in the Yucatan in 2006. The article also mentions SkyWay's connections to "military intelligence" and the Bush Family and their supporters. Another article from Mad Cow reveals as well the apparent involvment of other interesting Republican Party leaders. (In a later post it has also been revealed Joseph Stack apparently co-owned his hangar at the Georgetown Municipal Airport with someone with the same name as an L-3 executive working for Homeland Security in Austin)
The L-3 subsidiary which Stack worked for, Interstate Electronics Corporation, is chased by at least one story of corruption as well. An article in Defense Industry Daily explains that IEC supplied defective parts used in CSEL emergency radios to locate downed military pilots. Hopefully they were more careful when they had that service contract for the Trident II Missile.

***From Cryptome, "Cylink Corporation has made encryption security products for networking, for over 16 years. Those products are built by foreign nationals and used by businesses, banks and governments around the world, including in the United States. Cylink has managed to export product without United States restriction, including to embargoed nations."

****Hughes Aircraft is also tied by some to the death of Danny Casolaro. Also of interest, we learn from Kevin Ryan's article on 9/11 that the former President of Hughes Aircraft, James Abrahamson, became director of Stratesec (responsible for WTC security after '93) in December 1997.

Prison Planet Source Says FBI Knew Austin Would Be Attacked; Fire Truck and Hazmat on Scene BEFORE attack

A Prison Planet source told them "that the FBI knew Austin was going to be attacked today and had dispatched officers from its Dallas headquarters yesterday afternoon to be in place for today’s incident.
The source claims that a confidential memo was circulated yesterday detailing that a building in Austin was going to be the target of an attack today. He was told this by an informant who works in the Dallas FBI office."

More in their new article.

Also in a special broadcast live on the internet Alex Jones reported that emergency crews were also on the scene BEFORE the attack.

Here is a video below where at 2:55 a young woman reports that a fire truck and Hazmat crew were already on the scene WHEN the attack occured.

Establishment/Corporate/Government Hype Cyber Attacks

New reports of how the military and corporations feel their absolute power is under attack by cyber attacks originating in China and Germany, or so they say in this video at least. Oh no....Oh no..."Should individuals do anything different?" asks the anchor, as if some hackers in Germany or China are more of a threat to the individual then his own government, large corporations and intelligence agencies might be.

Small Plane Crashes into Austin Echelon Building/ IRS Offices

Live reports and video is streaming on Fox about a plane crash into an Austin TX office building. The building at 9420 Research Blvd is one of three black office buildings called the 'Echelon' buildings. There are reports of one person missing, and two injured.

F-16s have been scrambled to fly over the area.

There are reports that the IRS has offices in the building and that the FBI has offices in a nearby building. Cryptogon and Prison Planet have articles on the story.

On the internet and from the live Fox stream, is a 'confirmed' report that the plane pilot was a blogger, Joseph Andrew Stack, with anti-'Big Brother'/anti-government opinions.

Already at 1:11 pm on Feb. 18, Joe Wiesenthal on Business Insider posted this article including an anti-Big Brother rant from the suspected pilot.

Here is a link to the the alleged rant on the suspect's blog. (Unfortunately the FBI had the site taken down. Here is a site however which has an archived version of some of the pages of his site and his rant.)

Editorial Note: Looks like this could be part of what many have been waiting for, an event which will be used to conveniently paint anti-establishment/anti-government movements as dangerous radicals. Alex Jones has also recently reported on his radio show that he received information from confidential sources that Rick Perry, Governor of Texas is aware of Republican Party concern about the rise of anti-establishment figures such as Ron Paul, Debra Medina, and Alex Jones in Texas and that something would have to do done to stop it.

I'll just copy and paste the entire 'suicide note' here it is....

If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken. Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially given my gross inability to gracefully articulate my thoughts in light of the storm raging in my head. Exactly what is therapeutic about that I’m not sure, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

We are all taught as children that without laws there would be no society, only anarchy. Sadly, starting at early ages we in this country have been brainwashed to believe that, in return for our dedication and service, our government stands for justice for all. We are further brainwashed to believe that there is freedom in this place, and that we should be ready to lay our lives down for the noble principals represented by its founding fathers. Remember? One of these was “no taxation without representation”. I have spent the total years of my adulthood unlearning that crap from only a few years of my childhood. These days anyone who really stands up for that principal is promptly labeled a “crackpot”, traitor and worse.

While very few working people would say they haven’t had their fair share of taxes (as can I), in my lifetime I can say with a great degree of certainty that there has never been a politician cast a vote on any matter with the likes of me or my interests in mind. Nor, for that matter, are they the least bit interested in me or anything I have to say.

Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if not hours? Yet at the same time, the joke we call the American medical system, including the drug and insurance companies, are murdering tens of thousands of people a year and stealing from the corpses and victims they cripple, and this country’s leaders don’t see this as important as bailing out a few of their vile, rich cronies. Yet, the political “representatives” (thieves, liars, and self-serving scumbags is far more accurate) have endless time to sit around for year after year and debate the state of the “terrible health care problem”. It’s clear they see no crisis as long as the dead people don’t get in the way of their corporate profits rolling in.

And justice? You’ve got to be kidding!

How can any rational individual explain that white elephant conundrum in the middle of our tax system and, indeed, our entire legal system? Here we have a system that is, by far, too complicated for the brightest of the master scholars to understand. Yet, it mercilessly “holds accountable” its victims, claiming that they’re responsible for fully complying with laws not even the experts understand. The law “requires” a signature on the bottom of a tax filing; yet no one can say truthfully that they understand what they are signing; if that’s not “duress” than what is. If this is not the measure of a totalitarian regime, nothing is.

How did I get here?

My introduction to the real American nightmare starts back in the early ‘80s. Unfortunately after more than 16 years of school, somewhere along the line I picked up the absurd, pompous notion that I could read and understand plain English. Some friends introduced me to a group of people who were having ‘tax code’ readings and discussions. In particular, zeroed in on a section relating to the wonderful “exemptions” that make institutions like the vulgar, corrupt Catholic Church so incredibly wealthy. We carefully studied the law (with the help of some of the “best”, high-paid, experienced tax lawyers in the business), and then began to do exactly what the “big boys” were doing (except that we weren’t steeling from our congregation or lying to the government about our massive profits in the name of God). We took a great deal of care to make it all visible, following all of the rules, exactly the way the law said it was to be done.

The intent of this exercise and our efforts was to bring about a much-needed re-evaluation of the laws that allow the monsters of organized religion to make such a mockery of people who earn an honest living. However, this is where I learned that there are two “interpretations” for every law; one for the very rich, and one for the rest of us… Oh, and the monsters are the very ones making and enforcing the laws; the inquisition is still alive and well today in this country.

That little lesson in patriotism cost me $40,000+, 10 years of my life, and set my retirement plans back to 0. It made me realize for the first time that I live in a country with an ideology that is based on a total and complete lie. It also made me realize, not only how naive I had been, but also the incredible stupidity of the American public; that they buy, hook, line, and sinker, the crap about their “freedom”… and that they continue to do so with eyes closed in the face of overwhelming evidence and all that keeps happening in front of them.

Before even having to make a shaky recovery from the sting of the first lesson on what justice really means in this country (around 1984 after making my way through engineering school and still another five years of “paying my dues”), I felt I finally had to take a chance of launching my dream of becoming an independent engineer.

On the subjects of engineers and dreams of independence, I should digress somewhat to say that I’m sure that I inherited the fascination for creative problem solving from my father. I realized this at a very young age.

The significance of independence, however, came much later during my early years of college; at the age of 18 or 19 when I was living on my own as student in an apartment in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. My neighbor was an elderly retired woman (80+ seemed ancient to me at that age) who was the widowed wife of a retired steel worker. Her husband had worked all his life in the steel mills of central Pennsylvania with promises from big business and the union that, for his 30 years of service, he would have a pension and medical care to look forward to in his retirement. Instead he was one of the thousands who got nothing because the incompetent mill management and corrupt union (not to mention the government) raided their pension funds and stole their retirement. All she had was social security to live on.

In retrospect, the situation was laughable because here I was living on peanut butter and bread (or Ritz crackers when I could afford to splurge) for months at a time. When I got to know this poor figure and heard her story I felt worse for her plight than for my own (I, after all, I thought I had everything to in front of me). I was genuinely appalled at one point, as we exchanged stories and commiserated with each other over our situations, when she in her grandmotherly fashion tried to convince me that I would be “healthier” eating cat food (like her) rather than trying to get all my substance from peanut butter and bread. I couldn’t quite go there, but the impression was made. I decided that I didn’t trust big business to take care of me, and that I would take responsibility for my own future and myself.

Return to the early ‘80s, and here I was off to a terrifying start as a ‘wet-behind-the-ears’ contract software engineer... and two years later, thanks to the fine backroom, midnight effort by the sleazy executives of Arthur Andersen (the very same folks who later brought us Enron and other such calamities) and an equally sleazy New York Senator (Patrick Moynihan), we saw the passage of 1986 tax reform act with its section 1706.

For you who are unfamiliar, here is the core text of the IRS Section 1706, defining the treatment of workers (such as contract engineers) for tax purposes. Visit this link for a conference committee report ( regarding the intended interpretation of Section 1706 and the relevant parts of Section 530, as amended. For information on how these laws affect technical services workers and their clients, read our discussion here (

(a) IN GENERAL - Section 530 of the Revenue Act of 1978 is amended by adding at the end thereof the following new subsection:

(d) EXCEPTION. - This section shall not apply in the case of an individual who pursuant to an arrangement between the taxpayer and another person, provides services for such other person as an engineer, designer, drafter, computer programmer, systems analyst, or other similarly skilled worker engaged in a similar line of work.

(b) EFFECTIVE DATE. - The amendment made by this section shall apply to remuneration paid and services rendered after December 31, 1986.

· "another person" is the client in the traditional job-shop relationship.

· "taxpayer" is the recruiter, broker, agency, or job shop.

· "individual", "employee", or "worker" is you.

Admittedly, you need to read the treatment to understand what it is saying but it’s not very complicated. The bottom line is that they may as well have put my name right in the text of section (d). Moreover, they could only have been more blunt if they would have came out and directly declared me a criminal and non-citizen slave. Twenty years later, I still can’t believe my eyes.

During 1987, I spent close to $5000 of my ‘pocket change’, and at least 1000 hours of my time writing, printing, and mailing to any senator, congressman, governor, or slug that might listen; none did, and they universally treated me as if I was wasting their time. I spent countless hours on the L.A. freeways driving to meetings and any and all of the disorganized professional groups who were attempting to mount a campaign against this atrocity. This, only to discover that our efforts were being easily derailed by a few moles from the brokers who were just beginning to enjoy the windfall from the new declaration of their “freedom”. Oh, and don’t forget, for all of the time I was spending on this, I was loosing income that I couldn’t bill clients.

After months of struggling it had clearly gotten to be a futile exercise. The best we could get for all of our trouble is a pronouncement from an IRS mouthpiece that they weren’t going to enforce that provision (read harass engineers and scientists). This immediately proved to be a lie, and the mere existence of the regulation began to have its impact on my bottom line; this, of course, was the intended effect.

Again, rewind my retirement plans back to 0 and shift them into idle. If I had any sense, I clearly should have left abandoned engineering and never looked back.

Instead I got busy working 100-hour workweeks. Then came the L.A. depression of the early 1990s. Our leaders decided that they didn’t need the all of those extra Air Force bases they had in Southern California, so they were closed; just like that. The result was economic devastation in the region that rivaled the widely publicized Texas S&L fiasco. However, because the government caused it, no one gave a shit about all of the young families who lost their homes or street after street of boarded up houses abandoned to the wealthy loan companies who received government funds to “shore up” their windfall. Again, I lost my retirement.

Years later, after weathering a divorce and the constant struggle trying to build some momentum with my business, I find myself once again beginning to finally pick up some speed.

By this time, I’m thinking that it might be good for a change. Bye to California, I’ll try Austin for a while. So I moved, only to find out that this is a place with a highly inflated sense of self-importance and where damn little real engineering work is done. I’ve never experienced such a hard time finding work. The rates are 1/3 of what I was earning before the crash, because pay rates here are fixed by the three or four large companies in the area who are in collusion to drive down prices and wages… and this happens because the justice department is all on the take and doesn’t give a fuck about serving anyone or anything but themselves and their rich buddies.

To survive, I was forced to cannibalize my savings and retirement, the last of which was a small IRA. This came in a year with mammoth expenses and not a single dollar of income. I filed no return that year thinking that because I didn’t have any income there was no need. The sleazy government decided that they disagreed. But they didn’t notify me in time for me to launch a legal objection so when I attempted to get a protest filed with the court I was told I was no longer entitled to due process because the time to file ran out. Bend over for another $10,000 helping of justice.

So now we come to the present. After my experience with the CPA world, following the business crash I swore that I’d never enter another accountant’s office again. But here I am with a new marriage and a boatload of undocumented income, not to mention an expensive new business asset, a piano, which I had no idea how to handle. After considerable thought I decided that it would be irresponsible NOT to get professional help; a very big mistake.

When we received the forms back I was very optimistic that they were in order. I had taken all of the years information to Bill Ross, and he came back with results very similar to what I was expecting. Except that he had neglected to include the contents of Sheryl’s unreported income; $12,700 worth of it. To make matters worse, Ross knew all along this was missing and I didn’t have a clue until he pointed it out in the middle of the audit. By that time it had become brutally evident that he was representing himself and not me.

This left me stuck in the middle of this disaster trying to defend transactions that have no relationship to anything tax-related (at least the tax-related transactions were poorly documented). Things I never knew anything about and things my wife had no clue would ever matter to anyone. The end result is… well, just look around.

I remember reading about the stock market crash before the “great” depression and how there were wealthy bankers and businessmen jumping out of windows when they realized they screwed up and lost everything. Isn’t it ironic how far we’ve come in 60 years in this country that they now know how to fix that little economic problem; they just steal from the middle class (who doesn’t have any say in it, elections are a joke) to cover their asses and it’s “business-as-usual”. Now when the wealthy fuck up, the poor get to die for the mistakes… isn’t that a clever, tidy solution.

As government agencies go, the FAA is often justifiably referred to as a tombstone agency, though they are hardly alone. The recent presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies in their eight years certainly reinforced for all of us that this criticism rings equally true for all of the government. Nothing changes unless there is a body count (unless it is in the interest of the wealthy sows at the government trough). In a government full of hypocrites from top to bottom, life is as cheap as their lies and their self-serving laws.

I know I’m hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand. It has always been a myth that people have stopped dying for their freedom in this country, and it isn’t limited to the blacks, and poor immigrants. I know there have been countless before me and there are sure to be as many after. But I also know that by not adding my body to the count, I insure nothing will change. I choose to not keep looking over my shoulder at “big brother” while he strips my carcass, I choose not to ignore what is going on all around me, I choose not to pretend that business as usual won’t continue; I have just had enough.

I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less. I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are. Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn’t so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer. The cruel joke is that the really big chunks of shit at the top have known this all along and have been laughing, at and using this awareness against, fools like me all along.

I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.

Angel is Next?

Some of this information has been around for a while, but it is nonetheless shocking.

In this CBS article we find out that there was a direct and credible threat to (codename) 'Angel' or Air Force One on 9/11. So much so that Air Force One had to refrain from even telling their position on their radio to air-traffic controllers. This is a breathtaking revelation on its own, for it reveals that there was a very real fear that the terrorists could be listening in to the communications of Air Force One which seems to point to a fear that the 'terrorists' actually had moles planted on the inside. This is made more clear by claims in this article that the threat against Air Force One included secret codes only possible to be known by top level people in the military, intelligence or administration.

Webster Tarpley outlines this idea in the video below successfully. Even if you don't believe all of his assertions, it seems clear that just a bunch of frustrated islamofascists with boxcutters would not have been able to threaten Air Force One with top level codes, and as Tarpley even asserts, the nuclear launch codes.
World Net Daily in their article make an attempt to place the blame on Iraqi spies, but anyone who remembers the ridiculous image of the Information Minister of Iraq, Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf during the Iraq invasion, can hardly believe that Iraqi intelligence was up to the task of cracking the nuclear launch codes of the U.S.

Alex Jones Suggests Neocons Could Stage Obama Assassination to Blame On 9/11 Truth

This is speculation, but Alex Jones has predicted things before...such as 9/11, so I take his prediction now (backed up by an excellent article on Infowars) seriously. The idea is that the neoconservatives who are dying to start a war with Iran might organize an assassination attempt on Obama to somehow be blamed on the 9/11 Truth movement who the neocons continually describe as a danger akin to terrorism. (One good example of this is this article where the 9/11 Truth movement is compared to the Fort Hood shooter.)

According to Prison Planet, the motive for the assassination attempt will be to blackmail Obama into starting a war with Iran. That's the basic idea. Check out their article for more details.

What's Up With the Drills?; Absolute Twilight Zone

There has been a lot of talk on the web about the phenomenon of 'drills going live', but I thought I would dedicate a post to the topic now, and see how many I can dig up in the wee hours of a monday morning.
As it turns out, many of the terror attacks and world events of the last decade have coincided with simultaneous drills by government agencies or the military. I suppose it can be (and the government surely has attempted to make this explanation) that this coincidence is the result of the fact that there are just so many drills going on all the time. Well, let's take a look and see if that answer satisfies us after we have looked at the examples.

Way back in 1990, there was actually a wargame going on simulating an Iraqi invasion of Kuwait when the actual event took place.

Now let's look at drills occurring on 9/11.

Fema arrived in New York late at night on Sept 10th, and "went into action" on the 11th. According to Giuliani, there was apparently a drill for biochemical attack scheduled for the 12th.

U.S. National Reconnaissance Office, which operates spy satellites, was conducting a simulation of a plane crash into their headquarters (near Dulles Airport in Virginia) on September 11!

The Airforce and Norad was conducting a couple drills which went live on 9/11.

Lastly we have this Washington Post article where you can read in the 6th paragraph how on the morning of 9/11, right before the attacks, Medic Matt Rosenberg was in Corridor 8 of the Pentagon studying "a new medical emergency disaster plan based on the unlikely scenario of an airplane crashing into the place." (Curiously also in that paragraph is mentioned Charles Burlingame who "worked on anti-terrorism strategies in the Pentagon" and, according to the official story, would soon be flying the same 757, American Airlines Flight 77, which later is flown right INTO the pentagon as part of a very real act of terrorism )

If that weren't enough you also have this wonderful video below concerning the 7/7 attacks in London and a drill which was taking place on that very day as well.

It has been speculated on the internet that these drills are used to mask government involvement, complicity, or preparations for the attacks.

But at the risk of truly entering the realm of the bizarre, I must also mention that there was even a drill going on testing an online system to coordinate relief efforts by the Defence Information Systems Agency before the recent earthquake in Haiti. From Nextgov: "Jean Demay, DISA’s technical manager for the agency’s Transnational Information Sharing Cooperation project, happened to be at the headquarters of the U.S. Southern Command in Miami preparing for a test of the system in a scenario that involved providing relief to Haiti in the wake of a hurricane. After the earthquake hit on Tuesday, Demay said SOUTHCOM decided to go live with the system."

Far-fetched it may be, but Defence Secretary Cohen back in 1997 had this to say in a keynote address to a terrorism conference:

"Others are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves. So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It's real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our efforts, and that's why this is so important."

U.S. Government May Target Americans Abroad for Death

From Raw Story: US says it may kill Americans abroad

"In a striking admission from the Obama Administration's top intelligence officer, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair announced Wednesday that the United States may target its own citizens abroad for death if it believes they are associated with terrorist groups."

Here is a video from Russia Today with former Reagan Assistant Treasury Secretary, Paul Craig Roberts, speaking about the issue and declaring the U.S. to be a police state.

Outside The Mainstream, But Right!

(Updated 2/14/10)

A republican Texas gubernatorial candidate "raised eyebrows" in the Washington Post for saying about 9/11 that "the American people have not seen all the evidence."

This is absolutely true.

But nonetheless it's not allowed by the powers that rule our country to say such a thing.

The statement came as a response to a question Glenn Beck made on his show about 9/11. Of course it's not just republicans who get shot down for having trouble believing the official story by cagey gatekeeper-wouldn't be surprised if he were CIA-Glenn Beck as the Van Jones incident tells us.

But it's not even just politicians on the left and right who have problems with the 'official story', but also more then 1000 architects and engineers who have signed a petition to demand a new investigation.

The Washington Post might be 'raising eyebrows' at anyone who questions the official story, but those eyebrows must have been getting a workout over the last couple years since a poll in 2006 showed that only 16% of Americans believed that the Bush administration was telling the truth about 9/11. 81%, let me say it again, 81% of Americans thought the Bush administration was either 'hiding somthing' or 'mostly lying.' But the insiders who control the mainstream newspapers of this country are still raising their eyebrows at most of the country. I'll tell you something. I've been raising my eyebrows about the shitty journalism in mainstream U.S. newspapers for the last decade.

The official investigation into 9/11 was a sham and everyone knows it. It never investigated the funding for 9/11. It never investigated the $100,000 dollars ISI (Pakistani Intelligence with close CIA connections) chief Mahmud Ahmed had sent to 9/11 ringleader Atta. It never investigated the highly improbable complete collapse of a steel skyscraper, WTC Building 7, in less then seven seconds because of a fire. It was the third steel building to collapse into a pile of dust on 9/11. If you have a look at the tenants in this building, you will find it housed the largest CIA office outside of Langley and the largest Secret Service office, as well as the Office of Emergency Management, the IRS, the FBI and the Department of Defence as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission and their Enron and financial fraud records.
The official investigation also ignored information that a military effort entitled Able Danger had Atta and other terrorists in their sights before 9/11 and pentagon lawyers wouldn't allow Able Danger to work with the FBI to take down the cell. In fact as former FBI director Louis Freeh pointed out, the 9/11 Commission went so far as to claim that "American intelligence agencies were unaware of Mr. Atta until the day of the attacks." Mr. Freeh however claims "This now looks to be embarrassingly wrong."
As Mr. Freeh said on Meet the Press "We have now very honorable military officers telling the United States, Tim, that in 2000 not only had Mohammad Atta been identified, by photo and name, but was earmarked as an Al Qaeda operative in the United States..."
In fact retired professor and author David Ray Griffin, as well as calling the 9/11 Commission Report 'a 571-page lie,' has compiled a list of 115 lies and omissions in the report. Even the two co-chairs of the 9/11 commission said that it was 'set up to fail.'

And then there are recent developments like this one, unreported in the U.S., where Danish TV reports on military explosives found in the WTC dust.

And maybe you find it hard to believe elements of your own government might be involved in wrongdoing, but if you put the emotions aside for a moment and look at the facts that have come out over the years, you find that some have been doing alot wrong. Just for starters take a quick glance at this list of CIA evil deeds compiled by the late Steve Kangas. But not only were the CIA supporting dictators and overthrowing democracies over the years, they were also smuggling drugs. They have their own wikipedia page for CIA drug trafficking, They also have one for drug smuggling as part of Iran-Contra. And more up to date here is a Daily Kos article about a CIA torture plane crashing with several tons of cocaine onboard. Then take a look at this article about an historic drug seizure from a plane which nets 30 pounds of heroin. According to Daniel Hopsicker the plane belonged to Wally Hilliard. Who is that? Happens to be the guy who owned the flight school where 9/11 terrorist ringleader Mohammed Atta received his training. Hopsicker claims in this article the reason the terrorists were shielded from investigations was because they were part of "an officially-protected cocaine and heroin trafficking network with ties to top political figures, including Republican officials Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris."

And add to the mix as well the unsettling revelation that the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff once had submitted a proposal to President Kennedy, Operation Northwoods, which called for "Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or other operatives to commit genuine acts of terrorism in U.S. cities and elsewhere. These acts of terrorism were to be blamed on Cuba in order to create public support for a war against that nation." If Kennedy hadn't rejected those proposals, they would have very likely been carried out.

But don't listen to me. I'm one of those conspiracy theorists Cass Sunstein has been warning you about. Keep on bombing the Middle East. Oh, by the way, did you notice the economy is up the creek without a paddle as well? When it rains it pours, doesn't it? It's called corruption and it likes its own kind.

Snowfall Perfect Opportunity For National Guard Deployment?

Isn't a heavy snowfall a bit of a light excuse to send the Humvees out on to the streets?

Desperately needed says CNN...

Corporate/Establishment Manipulators Seek to Appropriate and Channel Anti-Establishment Movements into Neoconservative Designs

Whether you are an anti-war Obama 'change' voter, or a Ron Paul Revolution supporter, the establishment wants to channel your passions into their designs. They wish to de-fang any movement which is a threat to them, by incorporating its more gullible elements into accepting an establishment version which fits their fake left vs. right football game, while at the same time in reality changing nothing and supporting the status quo of establishment top down rule.

Read here about how Ron Paul sees his movement as being infiltrated by the neocons.

Read here or more recently here about how Obama supporters find themselves now in the company of neocons as well.

The neocons aren't gone. They still own the stage, the scene, the media, the talking points left and right, because they ARE the establishment's darlings, military, financial and corporate. There might be some distinctions to be made between establishment conservatives like (ex-Iran Contra) Defence Secretary Robert Gates, who some say isn't a neocon, and chickenhawks like Lieberman or Cheney. However, differences like these only represent slightly different shadings of the similar pro-war, pro-empire policies. In the end we are given a fictional choice between rabid pro-war hawks and slightly more cautious establishment brass from the pentagon or elsewhere. Is that a real choice?

Usually evil forces or empires in this world are not defeated outright, but rather during prolonged struggle defeat themselves. This might be the eventual end to the neocon plague as well, the financial ruin mentioned in the post below.

Will Financial Ruin End Neocon Empire? Chinese Talk of Selling U.S. Bonds

Will an empty pocketbook and a broken economy finally put an end to the wars of aggression, to the new 'World War IV' , to the manipulative media, to the loss of our liberties and threats of terror and the militarization of our society on all levels? If it stopped the mighty U.S.S.R. why can't it also stop our corporate masters and power elite in their tracks? Of course the bankers and special interests might find ways of keeping their armed to the teeth mercenary, the USA, fighting on, but some recent articles point to problems ahead for the war plans of the empire builders.

As Eric Margolis points out in an article in the Toronto Sun, "More empires have fallen because of reckless finances than invasion. The latest example was the Soviet Union, which spent itself into ruin by buying tanks."

He goes on to make comparisons to the dying British Empire: "Besides the late U.S.S.R., the U.S. also increasingly resembles the dying British Empire in 1945, crushed by immense debts incurred to wage the Second World War, unable to continue financing or defending the imperium, yet still imbued with imperial pretensions."

Did you know that China spends only 10% of what we do on defence? Will someone invade China tomorrow? Doubt it. And imagine how much money we would have for the betterment of our society if we slashed our defence spending only in half or even just by a quarter or a third? We would still be spending more then three times what anyone spends on defence. What would end is the murder of countless civilians and soldiers off in the deserts of central asia somewhere for the sake of big money interests and greedy imperial minds like those of Kristol, Cheney, Lieberman, Pearl, Podhoretz, Pipes etc...Anyone who supports an American empire, not for the benefit of ordinary Americans but for the benefit of international bankers, the military-industrial complex, the 'robber class' and the power elite, will obviously need to control our media and our society to keep control of THEIR imperial army, namely the U.S. military.

Though we might not have control of our government, our media, or our military, if our finances collapse, then THEIR empire collapses with it.

A recent article on how Chinese military officers spoke openly about the possibility of retaliation against the U.S. for its recent arms sales to Taiwan through the selling of U.S. Bonds underscores how the greedy empire of the neocons might fall like a house of cards should the Chinese ever not wish to cooperate.

These ideas have been around as this 2008 video of Ron Paul illustrates, who thought then "it's time to end the empire" since "the system here is going to collapse because we can't be maintaining this with our ability to pay for it."

As William Kristol described "All good things must come to an end." Though he was speaking from his warped right/left perspective on the 'conservative' era, his statement equally applies to more then a decade of open lies to the public, invading of foreign countries, undermining of our civil liberties, and creation of massive debt, even as he and his ilk go on to talk of modern conservatism as 'defending liberty with strength and confidence.'

Nuclear Scientists Missing or Dead. A List.

I learned of a recent trend of nuclear scientists gone missing or found dead from Unfortunately I found it easy to add to the list. Some of them have links to the Iran nuclear situation.

1. Ardeshir Hosseinpour

2. Lokanathan Mahalingam -Follow up here, body found.

3. Shahram Amiri

4. Timothy Hampton -Other articles here and here.

5. Antonio Ferrigno

6. Masoud Ali Mohammadi

7. Lachlan Cranswick

According to this article in the Telegraph, it is public knowledge that Isreal "has launched a covert war against Iran" including "the planned assassination of top figures involved in Iran's atomic operations."

That might explain some of the disappearances but I'm not sure about cases 2,4, 5, and 7 where I have not yet found the link to the Iran nuclear program. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist however. There might also be more then one cause to this phenomenon.

Iran Optimistic about Uranium Swap; U.S. Media Says Deal Dead; Israeli Warships on Way to Persian Gulf

As the Tehran Times announces that Iran is optimistic about the uranium swap deal(to enrich uranium in a foreign country such as Russia and return it to Iran), CNN is reporting that Ahmadinejad is ordering uranium enrichment to begin domestically.

What is one to make of these mixed messages? Well that depends on who you believe. Clearly the corporate/government press of the West has taken a liking to the evil Ahmadinejad story as Fox and The Washington Post also run with 'Ahmadinejad orders higher enrichment of uranium' as headline. Of course the New York Times as well.

But buried in a Washington Post article is a possible explanation:

"But Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, denied that production would start immediately, saying that the president instructed his organization to start production of 20 percent enriched uranium only if talks on the swap fail..."The Iranian president has underlined that the main focus has been the swap deal," Salehi told state news agency IRNA. "He asked our organization to initiate a plan to enrich uranium 20 percent. As soon as the Iranian president declares that talks on the swap deal are over, and upon direct order from the president, the operation will start at the Natanz site.""

So the enrichment is just a threat if somehow the uranium deal falls through. Ok. But in the the New York Times article all you hear of is that the deal is dead:

“We have to agree, that deal is dead,” said Valerie Lincy, senior associate at the Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control.

Who is this Valerie Lincy you might ask? Valerie Lincy happens to be Editor and Principal investigator of 'Iran Watch.' She also happens to be one of those who was firmly committed to the dangers of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction as we can see from this article from 2003. You remember those weapons of mass destruction? Those were the ones nobody could ever find.

By the way did you see the name of the website for the article on Saddam's WMDs?

That's right....Iraq Watch. So now she has Iran Watch. Do you see the direction we are going in here? Do you think another Iraq from people like Valerie Lincy is what we need?

Getting back to the New York TImes article, it goes on describing a dead deal here:

"The deal fell apart when it was rejected by the leadership in Tehran, which says its program is only for peaceful uses."

But on the other hand other more hopeful arguments can be found in the Washington Post article:

"Because of technological limitations, there are serious doubts that Iran could actually reach 20 percent enrichment, and even if it could there would still be significant hurdles to overcome before it could operate the reactor. Ahmadinejad immediately followed his order[for domestic enrichment], broadcast on state television, with a comment that negotiations with the West over the proposed uranium swap are not over."

In an earlier article the New York Times had nonchalantly mentioned the swap deal, albeit without much enthusiasm as 'Iran Avows Willingness to Swap Some Uranium', as if it were an NFL draft deal and not a possible end to a crisis which could trigger World War IV (or III depending on how you count.)

Of course that brings us to what this is all about, World War IV, something that Norman Podhoretz has described as 'The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism.'

To men like Podhoretz who literally lust for war with any of Israel's supposed enemies, any chance of a peace deal must be buried so the war preparations may continue. The editorials of Norman Podhoretz, William Kristol and other hawks like them have often appeared in the New York Times or the Washington Post and I don't find it hard to believe that such an attitude is shared by many in the fairly hawkish corporate media establishment. Certainly anyone who reads the New York Times on a regular basis has been inundated with scare articles about Iran threats.

And all this fear and propaganda may be leading somewhere dangerous. At this very moment the Israeli navy is on its way to the Persian Gulf.

Author's Note: Since the Washington Post is continually editing its articles and taking out the parts which were originally in it, I will include two screen shots of one of the articles mentioned to examine below. It's the article which includes the statements from Mr. Salehi and the writer which downplay the tone of imminent danger in this and other articles.

Cybersecurity Bills Drafted By Same Group Responsible for 9/11 Truth Hit Piece; Russia Today Covers Internet Control Coup

Attempts to seize control over the internet and track the indentity of internet users are being escalated in new cybersecurity legislation being considered in Washington.

In an AFP article, representative David Wu from Oregon fantatsizes about the Wild West of the internet.

"We cannot stand by and let the most powerful tool for connecting Americans with each other and the world remain the Wild West of technology."

Wild West? What is he talking about?

"Cybercrime is a major problem for the government, for businesses, and indeed for every American," Lipinski, a Democrat, said in a statement.

Is it really? I don't think I have ever personally experienced 'cyber crime.' Perhaps it is a threat for key infrastructure computer networks and much of the bills going through congress seem to address that, however there is fear that these bills usher in a new age of government control of the internet.

There is a House Bill which has just passed in the House, Cybersecurity Enhancement Act of 2009(HR 4061), which would raise nearly $400 million for cybersecurity research and development programs, scholarships, and training programs in colleges and universities as well as setting up some kind of internationally accepted cybersecurity standards and public awareness campaigns.

However in another bill in the Senate (S. 773), in Section 18, it states the President "may declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from any compromised Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network." Under Section 14, Public-Private Clearinghouse, the Secretary of Commerce "shall have access to all relevant data concerning such networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule, or policy restricting such access." The networks they are referring to are "State, local, and nongovernmental information systems and networks in the United States designated by the President as critical infrastructure information systems and networks."
However the concern rests on the fear that this might be defined loosely to include almost any network or internet site.

From an article from the Electronic Frontier Foundation we find that our private information may be once again spied on in new ways as well as tracked in the future through 'identity management.':

"the bill contains a particularly dangerous provision that could cripple privacy and security in one fell swoop...The broad scope of this provision could eviscerate statutory protections for private information, such as the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the Privacy Protection Act, or financial privacy regulations...A privacy threat still in the cocoon is the provision mandating a study of the feasibility of an identity management and authentication program with just a nod to “appropriate civil liberties and privacy protections.” There’s reason to fear that this type of study is just a precursor to proposals to limit online anonymity."

Interestingly in one article I came upon the information that "Snowe (R-Maine) noted that the bill "loosely parallels" a set of cybersecurity recommendations contained in a report released late last year by a commission set up by the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies."

The Center for Strategic and International Studies? That rang a bell. And I remember from where. Recently Arnaud de Borchgrave wrote an article attempting to equate the Fort Hood shooter with 9/11 truthers, or the movement of people who want a new investigation into 9/11. This very same Arnaud de Borchgrave is the Director for Transnational Threats at the Center For Strategic and International Studies. So someone who easily connects the 9/11 truth movement with real terrorism is a director at the center responsible for helping to create the new cybersecurity legislation. Wow that can't be good.

It must also be noted that Arnaud de Borchgrave also wrote a book on Cybersecurity, namely 'Cyber Threats and Information Security.' Here on Amazon.

It must be however also noted that the actual commission which I believe Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R- Maine) was referring to does not include the name of Arnaud de Borchgrave on its list of members. Still it's interesting to see the general crowd from which the legislation is coming and it's probably a good idea to keep a close eye on how some of these think tanks have their influence on actual legislation.

Ironically you must watch Russia Today to find out about anti-corporate/pro liberty opinions on the new moves of the corporate state monster. Is that an outlet which might need to be 'shut down' in an emergency? Ah, welcome to the United States of Guatemala.
