(Reuters) - The Obama administration on Monday plans to outline how U.S. laws empower the government to kill Americans overseas who engage in terrorism against their home country, a source familiar with the matter said, months after a drone strike killed a U.S.-born cleric who plotted attacks from Yemen...

"At bottom, the administration is asserting the unreviewable authority to kill any American whom the president declares to be an enemy of the state," Jameel Jaffer, the ACLU's deputy legal director, said in a statement.

U.S. officials have linked Awlaki to several plots against the United States, including the 2009 Christmas Day attempt by a Nigerian man to blow up a U.S. commercial airliner as it arrived in Detroit from Amsterdam with a bomb hidden in his underwear.

When the bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in a U.S. prison, authorities said that Awlaki himself approved and directed the plot from Yemen.

It is important to also note here, the example they use, the christmas/underwear bomber, was witnessed by a fellow passenger to have been let on the plane on purpose by some kind of agent, as well as Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy admitted to letting the bomber fly. So the very example they use for the necessity of assassinating individuals is a fraudulent one.

I contend that this story is just the tip of the iceberg into the US government’s black operations to further the Patriot Act, funding for Homeland Security and the TSA, and to keep intensity up for the so called War on Terror. Respected lawyer and community leader, Kurt Haskell, has nothing to gain from pointing his finger at the federal government. He witnessed the underwear bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, being whisked past security and led onto NorthWest Airlines flight 253, by a well-dressed man with an American accent- all without the passenger’s proper visa and passport documentation. What the news piece doesn’t mention is that the State Dept did indeed put Mutallab on the plane, at the behest of “an unnamed US intelligence agency.” Undersecretary Patrick F. Kennedy (Detroit news article was removed from web!).

Transportation Safety Administration chief John Pistole and several senators from both parties defended the new, enhanced airport security screening procedures as necessary in the face of a persistent and evolving terrorist threat in a hearing Wednesday on Capitol Hill.

Pistole, calm and confident in the face of an increasing public outcry against the procedures, talked extensively about the repercussions of last year's attempted Christmas Day bombing being the impetus for the enhanced screenings before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, TSA's oversight committee.

"We know the terrorists' intent is still there," Pistole testified. "We are using technology and protocols to stay ahead of the threat and keep you safe. (Several near-misses by terrorists on airplane bombings) got through security because we were not being thorough enough in our pat-downs."

Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri said prior to Pistole's testimony that she believed TSA was in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation, because people would be hopping mad at TSA if Christmas bomber Umar Farouk Adbulmutallab had succeeded. She went on to say the new advanced imaging technology--which has caused uproar because of its leave-no-secrets imaging and potential health risks--is more of a blessing than a curse.

"I'm wildly excited that I can walk through a machine instead of getting my dose of love pats," Sen. McCaskill said.

Obama's UPS Bomber Linked To Dubious Terror Cell

A Reuters article links the recent UPS bomber plot to Al-Qaeda in The Arabian Peninsula, and the Christmas Bomber. Everything about Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula seems suspect, like their obviously phony magazine, Inspire, with headlines like "Make A Bomb In The Kitchen Of Your Mom." The Christmas Bomber was very dubious since witnesses claimed he was helped on the plane by a customs official. A spokesperson for the State Department also revealed that his visa was purposely NOT revoked after protests from a U.S. intelligence agency when the State Department attempted to revoke it before the bombing.

That doesn't mean that there isn't danger. It means who the danger is coming from, is an open question.

In a key passage on page 29, the report even eerily uses a special term, instead of counter-terrorism, now they talk about counter-radicalism, a vague and dangerous formulation for a democracy.

It is fundamentally troubling, given this collection of new threats and new adversaries directly targeting America, that there remains no federal government agency or department specifically charged with identifying radicalization and interdicting the recruitment of U.S. citizens or residents for terrorism. As one senior intelligence analyst lamented, “There’s no lead agency or person. There are First Amendment issues we’re cognizant of. It’s not a crime to radicalize, only when it turns to violence. There are groups of people looking at different aspects of counter-radicalization. [But it] has to be integrated across agencies, across levels of government, public-private cooperation” - - which, unfortunately, it is not. America is thus vulnerable to a threat that is not only diversifying, but arguably intensifying.

Senate Intelligence/CNN Mirage Of "Lack Of Intelligence Sharing" When In Reality "Intelligence Sharing" Caused Christmas Bomber Failure

Reading a CNN article discussing the resignation of Dennis C. Blair and a Senate Intelligence Commitee report, you probably would believe a lack of intelligence sharing caused the Christmas Bomber intelligence failure. However, in reality, beyond the smokescreen of manipulation, it was the intelligence sharing itself which caused the incident. The State Department was on course to revoke the visa of Abdulmutallab until an unnamed intelligence agency requested that the State Department NOT do so. This goes unmentioned by CNN and other near useless media organizations.

Congressional hearing reveals US intelligence agencies shielded Flight 253 bomber

A January 27 hearing of the House Committee on Homeland Security established that US intelligence agencies stopped the State Department from revoking the US visa of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. The Nigerian student, whom US officials suspected of being affiliated with the Yemeni terrorist group Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, attempted to set off a bomb on Northwest Flight 253 into Detroit on Christmas Day. Revocation of Abdulmutallab’s visa would have prevented him from boarding the airplane.

The hearing was reported in a brief article posted January 27 on the web site of the Detroit News, headlined, “Terror Suspect Kept Visa to Avoid Tipping Off Larger Investigation.”

The revelation that US intelligence agencies made a deliberate decision to allow Abdulmutallab to board the commercial flight, without any special airport screening, has been buried in the media. As of this writing, nearly a week after the hearing, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Los Angeles Times have published no articles on the subject. Nor have the broadcast or cable media reported on it...

This is not just negligence of course. This mirage has a purpose. Corrupt elements within the establishment want, like any good mafia, more centralization and more "sharing" since it allows for more central control and thus more corruption.

Increased Intelligence Checks In Answer To Christmas Bomber, Only Did Anyone Tell Obama It Was Intelligence Who Purposefully Didn't Revoke His Visa?

An article in the New York Times explains how new security protocols for people flying to the United States, establishes "a system that uses intelligence information and assessment of threats to identify passengers who could have links to terrorism, a senior administration official said Thursday. The new approach will replace a broader layer of extra scrutiny that had been imposed recently on all passengers from 14 countries, most of which are Muslim. The change, which will be announced Friday by the Department of Homeland Security, is the result of a review of security at international airports ordered by Mr. Obama after the Christmas Day attempt to blow up a jetliner bound for Detroit."

Ok, so no more extra scrutiny for those from muslim countries, and now we are back to everyone is a suspect and more intelligence "assessment of threats."

But there is one important bit of information here being completely overlooked. An unnamed U.S. intelligence agency KNEW about the Christmas Bomber and asked the State Department NOT to revoke his visa when they wanted to after being warned by the bomber's father.
I covered that months ago in this post.

So more intelligence, or more screening would have done nothing, as one of our intelligence agencies purposefully wanted the suspect to have his visa to travel to the U.S.

Of course the New York Times would probably just call that a 'conspiracy theory'. Another article in the newspaper seems to link the new film by Roman Polanski, The Ghost Writer, about a Prime Minister linked with CIA torture and War on Terror corruption, with other conspiracy movies as " crude and heavy-handed, their formulations absurd, even outrageous." But the New York Times article is much more itself an outrageous piece of heavy-handed rebuking of anyone who challenges the 'official stories' its writer Sam Tanenhaus seems to find so comforting and without doubt.

This should be a front page story everywhere if it is true. The Detroit News* is reporting that during testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security, Patrick F. Kennedy, undersecretary for management at the State Department said that intelligence officials asked his agency not to deny a visa to the suspected terrorist over concerns that a denial would've foiled a larger investigation. *

This along with previous admissions by authorities that a man helped the Christmas Bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, "change planes," a man who, according to witness Kurt Haskell, asked the ticket agent to let Abdulmutallab board without a passport because "we do this all the time," raise serious questions about the event.

In an intervew on prisonplanet.tv (3 minutes in) Haskell also claims that he has received an email from a dutch woman who collaborates his story of Abdulmutallab being escorted by a 'sharp dressed man.'

If Haskell's evidence were somehow false and Abdulmutallab did board with a visa (not revoked by the State Department on request by counterterrorism officials) then we would be perhaps dealing with a dangerous sting operation. A scandal in its own right.

But Kurt Haskell claims on Prison Planet that he witnessed Abdulmutallab trying to board the plane as a Sudanese refugee without a passport and with the help of a U.S. government agent.

It is theoretically possible that the second scenario which Haskell describes still represents only an elaborate sting operation and not necessarily an intentional false flag operation, but the difference between the two seems to be narrowing as the government in all scenarios went out of its way to help, or at least not to impede, Abdulmutallab in his actions.

Do you really believe this is not related to a desire to increase military aid to yemen, tighten airport security, and install body scanners?

If it turns out to be the case that the whole thing from start to finish was an organized false flag event created by individuals within as well as outside the government for the reasons above or other reasons, why should anyone be surprised? The government and corporate media lied to us about WMDs to start unnecessary wars. They have menaced us with apparently fake or misleading Bin Laden videos. They have deceived us about swine flu so Big Pharma can get rich, and they have lied to us about the economic bailout to enrich their friends. Their credibility is zero. They operate with a methodology reminiscent of organized crime or fascism.

Terror suspect kept visa to avoid tipping off larger investigation

Washington --The State Department didn't revoke the visa of foiled terrorism suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab because federal counterterrorism officials had begged off revocation, a top State Department official revealed Wednesday.

Patrick F. Kennedy, an undersecretary for management at the State Department, said Abdulmutallab's visa wasn't taken away because intelligence officials asked his agency not to deny a visa to the suspected terrorist over concerns that a denial would've foiled a larger investigation into al-Qaida threats against the United States.

"Revocation action would've disclosed what they were doing," Kennedy said in testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security. Allowing Adbulmutallab to keep the visa increased chances federal investigators would be able to get closer to apprehending the terror network he is accused of working with, "rather than simply knocking out one solider in that effort."


The committee's hearing continues a series across Capitol Hill that started last week, all looking into the events leading up to and after the attempted bombing of Flight 253 over Detroit. Law enforcement officials say Abdulmutallab tried to detonate an explosive hidden in his underwear on board the flight from Amsterdam shortly before its landing at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus on Christmas Day.


Since the failed attack, criticism has swirled around leaders of the U.S. intelligence community who have indicated they were warned by the suspect's father about a month before the flight of a potential terror threat, but failed to stop Abdmutallab, despite other warning signs like the fact that he purchased a one-way ticket to Detroit with cash.


Politicians have also criticized the decision to treat Abdulmutallab as a civilian after the arrest in Michigan, with Miranda rights being read to him after less than an hour of interrogation and without input from the intelligence community.

Rep. Candice Miller, R-Harrison Township, the only Michigan House member on the Homeland Security Committee, said in a Tuesday statement that she planned to question officials on that matter at today's hearing.

Thought Provoking Article Might Help Explain Yemen and 'Sharp Dressed Indian'

Come, come...that's no way to fight a war. We can't have this talk about our security agencies this way, as if they would deliberately endanger the country they are supposed to protect. Well, if that isn't how you feel, you might want to look at this clip where towards the end Olbermann's guest suggests there could have been a deliberate witholding of information in the christmas bomber case. Now why would anyone think that? Just because his father was trying to warn the security services, doesn't mean anything does it? I mean they can't be expected to react to a real threat can they?

A runaway 23 year old on a terror watch list, traveling through several third world nations, with explosives in his underwear and reportedly trying to board as a sudanese refugee without a passport can travel to the U.S. His father however, former chairman of the FIrst Bank of Nigeria, was denied a visa to find his son in Yemen when he believed he had gone astray or 'became radicalized.'

Ron Smith, Customs Officer, Solves the Case.

Ok. Chief Customs Officer Ron Smith solved the case. Those mysterious Indians were apparently from another flight. Whew. Glad that's over. Now lets get those body scanners in the airports and begin those war plans for Yemen.

Thank you for your patience and accuracy in reporting the events of December 25 at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Everything we have talked about has been accurate concerning these events
That being said I have just received a piece of information that I did not previously have and hope it will clear up this matter.
As I have explained, there were no other passengers from flight 253 arrested or detained. The eyewitness accounts coincided with a separate issue concerning a passenger from a separate flight arriving at the airport. That passenger was escorted from the arriving plane to the CBP area. He was handcuffed at that time and could have been observed by the passengers from flight 253.
This still remains true; however, I now know that a passenger from flight 253 did have a canine alert to his carry on baggage in the baggage area of the CBP facility. He was placed in handcuffs and escorted to an interview room where he was interviewed and searched. There was nothing found during that search. Following the negative search results he received an explanation of why he was searched. He thanked the officers for doing their job and departed the facility along with the other passengers from flight 253.
I can not provide any other information about the individual because again, he was not arrested or detained and we have to protect his privacy.
This information is consistent with the eyewitness accounts.

So after several witnesses came forward about the handcuffed indian, Mr. Smith admits now finially he existed, but was from a different plane. He also now admits there was a second man from the flight who had a 'canine alert' and was handcuffed and interrogated and later released. Oh but wait...apparently Ron Smith has yet another version of events! In this article in Detroit News published yesterday he is stated as saying:

"A sniffer dog reacted to agricultural or food products inside the bag of a third man, who was off yet another flight, Smith said. He was questioned and may have had some items confiscated but was not arrested, Smith said. Smith could not identify the flight number for the man found with prohibited food or plant products."

Oh wait a second, so now he wasn't from flight 253 but from another flight? A flight which you can't identify? Ah, I see. Ok let's bomb Yemen. I trust you.

Lori Haskell however continues to defend their account of the man with the 'canine alert' in the article:

I walked off the plane with the individual," who was later arrested, Lori Haskell said. "He was standing around 15 to 20 feet away from us ... the entire time."

Invasion of the Terror Snatchers? Second Witness Talks of Handcuffed Indian Taken Away

Besides witnessing a sharp dressed Indian man help the underwear bomber get on his flight without a passport, Kurt Haskell also witnessed the FBI take away a second Indian man in handcuffs after the plane landed and the passengers where at a customs area.

Now a second witness from the flight, Daniel Huisinga, reports also witnessing the Indian suspect handcuffed at customs. Here is his interview on MSNBC. Please note how the correspondent interviewing him quickly tries to dismiss what he saw as...someone who has now been released.

Oh dear, well apparently the FBI still have him in custody according to what they told Kurt Haskell who was interviewed today here. (The part about the FBI admitting they have another person in custody is about seven minutes into the interview.)

Sharp Dressed 'Indian', Additional Indian Handcuffed at Customs Says Kurt Haskell

Kurt and Lori Haskell, the witnesses of the sharp dressed man who helped the recent underwear bomber through security have been doing now countless interviews. More details emerge such as the detail that the sharp dressed man appeared to be an Indian man. Also another witness reports on a cnn clip that the whole incident was strangely videotaped by someone aboard the plane. One thing which however seems to be left out of some of the mainstream media coverage is an incident Mr. Haskell reports that happened in customs after the plane landed where a second Indian man from the flight was taken into an interrogation room after a bomb sniffing dog didn't like his carry on bag. The Indian man was later handcuffed and taken away. Instead of reporting important details like this, which might lead us to the real culprits, sadly but not surprisingly many corporate news outlets are instead seeing only a green light for new military attack plans and added airport security measures.

I'll tell you a security measure that needs to be implemented immeadiately. FINDING THOSE WHO ARE REALLY RESPONSIBLE!...that would be the way you could insure safety as opposed to using this new incident as a political football. Of course...if the whole incident was designed as a political football, it's not hard to understand if those responsible remain hidden. Bring on the body scanners, shock bracelets, yemen drone attacks and bombing runs, and landing hour restrictions. Just don't explain who got this guy through security without a passport. Wouldn't fit the agenda would it?
