Homeland Security Coordinated 18-City Police Crackdown on Occupy Protest
Not mentioned however is that the crackdown was worldwide from most reports I've heard and not just national. The issue here, is that though we may be removing through military force one dictator here and one dictator there, there is a danger that in the end we will be left with one giant, militarized police/surveillance/economic empire against which there are little if any democratic forces left to keep it in check and maintain individual rights, or economic freedom against the power of the international corporations, banks and the centralized power of their international government. In the end I believe the project will fail, but that doesn't mean it isn't underway.

German Authorities Reject “Useless” Radiation Body Scanners

German police have described radiation-firing full body scanners as “useless”, following a 10-month trial, during which time alarm was unnecessarily raised far too frequently...The report concludes that the machines are too sensitive to movement and operate too slowly to be of any practical use. The federal authorities have no interest in carrying out more tests with the machines at this time.
Despite these findings, the Department of Homeland Security in the US plans to roll out hundreds more of the machines into airports across the country.

Homeland Security Hypes 'Insider' Nuclear, Chemical, Utility Infrastructure Terror For 9/11 10 Year Anniversary
Well surely Homeland Security has some 'insiders' in mind who will be able to carry out the necessary 'event.' I like how they have a picture of a nuclear cooling tower right at the start of the article...
The report claims that there are some "violent extremists [who] have, in fact, obtained insider positions,". Well, if the Feds know about these individuals, why don't they stop them? Or is it because it is their agents or informants who are involved as usual?

9/11 Responders Are Terrorists?

Some days just leave me speechless - Angry - and more than a little pissed off.
This little treasure just takes my breath away. In order for 9/11 Responders to receive needed medical care and treatment, they have to be screened against the Department of Homeland Security Terrorism Watch List. It's the law.
Apparently, true patriot Florida Republican Rep. Cliff Stearns, attached an amendment to the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Law that was passed by Congress last May. This amendment bars any and all 9/11 Responders from treatment if they have not been cleared by DHS. Obviously rushing into burning and crumbling skyscrapers to save lives is a suspicious activity that indicates possible ties and sympathy to - terrorists...

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced the beginning of Cyber Storm III—a three-day long, DHS-sponsored exercise that brings together a diverse cross-section of the nation’s cyber incident responders to assess U.S. cyber response capabilities.
“Securing America’s cyber infrastructure requires close coordination with our federal, state, international and private sector partners,” said Secretary Napolitano. “Exercises like Cyber Storm III allow us build upon the significant progress we’ve made in responding to evolving cyber threats.”
Cyber Storm III is an exercise scenario that simulates a large-scale cyber attack on critical infrastructure across the nation. The goal of the exercise is to examine and strengthen collective cyber preparedness and response capabilities, involving thousands of participants across government and industry.
As part of Cyber Storm III, DHS will exercise elements of the newly-developed National Cyber Incident Response Plan (NCIRP)—a blueprint for the Nation’s cybersecurity incident response.
Cyber Storm III participants include:
Administration-Wide—Seven Cabinet-level departments including Commerce, Defense, Energy, Homeland Security, Justice, Transportation and Treasury, in addition to the White House and representatives from the intelligence and law enforcement communities.
Eleven States—California, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, as well as the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC).
12 International Partners—Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
60 Private Sector Companies—DHS worked with representatives from the Banking and Finance, Chemical, Communications, Dams, Defense Industrial Base, Information Technology, Nuclear, Transportation, and Water Sectors, as well as the corresponding Sector Coordinating Councils and ISACs, to identify private sector participants.
Cyber Storm III also represents the first major exercise testing the new National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC)—which serves as the hub of national cybersecurity coordination and was established in October of 2009.
Missile Strikes in Pakistan Ramped Up To Thwart Suspected Terror Plot

The Wall Street Journal reports that in an effort to foil a suspected terrorist plot against European targets, the CIA has ramped up missile strikes against militants in Pakistan’s tribal regions. According to the article, the strikes, launched from unmanned drone aircraft, represent a rare use of the CIA’s drone campaign to preempt a possible terror attack on the West.
The terror plot, which officials have been tracking for weeks, is believed to target multiple countries, including the U.K., France, and Germany, these officials said.
The exact nature of the plot or plots couldn’t be learned immediately, and counter-terrorism officials in the U.S., Pakistan and Europe are continuing to investigate. There have, however, been multiple terror warnings in recent days in France, Germany and the U.K.

A New Domestic Terrorism Organization For 26 Alleged Would Be American Terrorists?
That's what a new paper from The Bipartisan Policy Center now being heralded by 9/11 commission geniuses Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton seems to suggest.
As if the creation of the Homeland Security Department and the 850,000 Americans with top secret security clearance aren't enough.
I had a post a while back about a possible new counter terrorism agenda being directed now against Americans. Could this be what I was expecting?
Perhaps every dubious and suspicious terror plot from Joe Stack and The Times Square Bomber to The Christmas Bomber is somehow connected to this agenda?
In a key passage on page 29, the report even eerily uses a special term, instead of counter-terrorism, now they talk about counter-radicalism, a vague and dangerous formulation for a democracy.
It is fundamentally troubling, given this collection of new threats and new adversaries directly targeting America, that there remains no federal government agency or department specifically charged with identifying radicalization and interdicting the recruitment of U.S. citizens or residents for terrorism. As one senior intelligence analyst lamented, “There’s no lead agency or person. There are First Amendment issues we’re cognizant of. It’s not a crime to radicalize, only when it turns to violence. There are groups of people looking at different aspects of counter-radicalization. [But it] has to be integrated across agencies, across levels of government, public-private cooperation” - - which, unfortunately, it is not. America is thus vulnerable to a threat that is not only diversifying, but arguably intensifying.

Indian Documentary Film Maker Arrested At Houston Airport For Carrying "Jihad Materials": "Jihad Literature", Brass Knuckles and $10,000 Cash

An Indian documentary film maker was arrested at the Houston airport on last Friday, for allegedly carrying suspicious Islamic "jihad literature", brass knuckles and $10,000 in cash.
The man was arrested at George Bush Intercontinental airport after “acting suspicious,” when airport screener’s thought they saw a possible handgun in a scan of his baggage. Upon investigation, the investigators found the brass knuckles, a manual for a handgun and Islamic literature in checked luggage.

State District Judge David Mendoza lowered Kumar's bail from $50,000 to $5,000 after learning more details about the case and that prosecutors were willing to let him plead to time served for unlawfully carrying a weapon in an airport.
Attorneys for Kumar said he has surrendered his passport while he mulls the deal. He does not want a criminal record to interfere next time he visits the United States, his attorney Grant Scheiner said.
"I think that everybody realized that he is not a threat. He's a peaceful man," Scheiner said. "He was here to visit the Hindu Congress of America, to deliver a lecture. It was about an interfaith discussion between Hindus and Muslims about the harms of terrorism."
Note: There is apparently another Vijay Kumar who is a Republican congressional candidate.

Mr. Homeland Security, Peddling his Wares?
Michael Chertoff, everyones favorite Homeland Security Secretary, who gave those great reassuring press conferences during Katrina, is now giving TV interviews on the necessity of body scanners in airports. Of course his Chertoff Group, a security consulting agency, includes a client that manufactures the machines, namely Rapiscan Systems.
