Global Hawk vs. Predator (Whoever Wins We Lose)
(For those out there who knew this already, bare with us less informed)
How can one easily tell if you are looking at a Predator drone, or a Global Hawk?
Hollywood holds the answer. The Global Hawk has the head(or nose aeronautically-speaking) of Alien, the Predator drone has the head of, well Predator of course.
I figure the engineers or designers at Northrop Grumman were having a little fun searching for inspiration for nose aerodynamics and noticed the Predator was like its movie counterpart, and chose to complete the analogy with a Global Hawk design that resembles Alien. It's as good a guess as any. But why didn't they call it the Global Alien?
Update 6/11/2012: After watching the video by Alex Jones on the new Ridley Scott film, Prometheus, I realize now this is probably not coincidental at all.
