That's what a new paper from The Bipartisan Policy Center now being heralded by 9/11 commission geniuses Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton seems to suggest.
As if the creation of the Homeland Security Department and the 850,000 Americans with top secret security clearance aren't enough.
I had a post a while back about a possible new counter terrorism agenda being directed now against Americans. Could this be what I was expecting?
Perhaps every dubious and suspicious terror plot from Joe Stack and The Times Square Bomber to The Christmas Bomber is somehow connected to this agenda?
In a key passage on page 29, the report even eerily uses a special term, instead of counter-terrorism, now they talk about counter-radicalism, a vague and dangerous formulation for a democracy.
It is fundamentally troubling, given this collection of new threats and new adversaries directly targeting America, that there remains no federal government agency or department specifically charged with identifying radicalization and interdicting the recruitment of U.S. citizens or residents for terrorism. As one senior intelligence analyst lamented, “There’s no lead agency or person. There are First Amendment issues we’re cognizant of. It’s not a crime to radicalize, only when it turns to violence. There are groups of people looking at different aspects of counter-radicalization. [But it] has to be integrated across agencies, across levels of government, public-private cooperation” - - which, unfortunately, it is not. America is thus vulnerable to a threat that is not only diversifying, but arguably intensifying.

Strange Coincidences in Wicks, Stack, and Bedell Triple Suicide Attacks

In an astounding 'coincidence' the guns used by both John Patrick Bedell and Johnny Lee Wicks not only were both bought in Las Vegas, but they both came from the same Memphis police evidence vault according to a recent AP article. Apparently it is customary for the Memphis police to sometimes sell confiscated weapons.
Joseph Andrew Stack and Johnny Lee Wicks have something else in common, they both burned down their houses before attacking governmental offices. Stack allegedly attacked the Echelon One building in Austin with his airplane enraged over the IRS, and Wicks opened fire at the Las Vegas Federal Courthouse supposedly enraged over losing Social Security benefits.
And finally several coincidences connect both Bedell and Stack. Not only were they both electrical, computer engineering specialists pursuing technical work in defense related projects, but they also both were from the same San Francisco area and also both lived for some time in Austin, TX.

Bedell's Materials: Strange Brew of DARPA and DOPE

Both Joseph Andrew Stack (alleged suicide pilot) and John Patrick Bedell (alleged suicide shooter) were software engineers from California in the vicinity of Silicon Valley. Stack apparently worked for notorious defense contractors such as L-3. Bedell wrote a 28-page DARPA grant proposal for the Pentagon, which can be downloaded, which ends with the sentence "Mr. Bedell has an intense desire to contribute to the national security of the United States." On Bedell's download page that proposal is sandwiched in with a treatise on Austrian economics (think Ron Paul here), and a gruesome medical investigation into the death of Colonel James Sabow (think 9/11 Truth here). So on the one hand we have here two examples of his supposed interest which neatly represent two movements critical of the excesses of the military-industrial complex and seen as a threat by the present American political establishment, on the other hand he is eagerly writing proposals for Department of Defense research projects.
As Cryptogon points out about Bedell:
Conspiracy theorist, libertarian, antigovernment extremist… with, “an intense desire to contribute to the national security of the United States”?
A cnn article describes an internet posting by JPatrickBedell on marijuana:
Given my belief that cannabis prohibition is the least defensible and most unjust aspect of the prohibitionist regime existing throughout the world today, I decided in March 2006 to cultivate cannabis in full view of the world
As stated in a previous post, alleged writings of his on a 'Bazpedia' profile page seem to be some kind of nonsensical hodge podge with links to treatises on Austrian economics mixed with absurd mentions of an information currency with a marijuana standard. I'm not joking. It's nonsense and someone is having a laugh.
A posting entitled "John Patrick Bedell: Welcome to the Conspiracy Theorist Lone Nut Era" on Cryptogon lists some of these as well as other newly surfaced internet materials. There seems to be a pervasive anti-governmental corruption stance in the materials which is then at times combined with nonsense and absurdities to degrade and malign it. As in the case of Joseph Andrew Stack, one must consider the very real possibility that these materials are also being juxtaposed with the alleged violence of the perpetrator to intentionally malign and defang authentic opposition to corrupt elements of our government.
Washington Post says 'Pentagon Guards Trained For Attack'
A Washington Post article describes two ex-military Pentagon guards who "did exactly what they were trained to do," when John Patrick Bedell opened fire. Interestingly, the article describes the two guards as "grazed by bullets, treated for minor injuries and released Thursday night." This is surprising given what one would assume was the point blank nature of the attack.
A press release on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website also describes a drill taking place a little more then a week ago which simulated "gunfire between two shooters in the station. "
A previous Of Goats And Men post outlines how often drills have been known to strangely coincide with terror events.
Again, as in the Stack case, besides the similarity that both California software engineer perpetrators were working on defense related projects, also many of the participants of both events were ex-military. In the Stack case, both the victim Vernon Hunter as well as the 'hero' Robin De Haven were both ex-military. So when one reads in the Washington Post article how for one of the Pentagon guards who was an ex-Marine "the training just snapped in and [he] just reacted," this can't help but remind us of Robin De Haven who mentioned in an interview with Wolf Blitzer that his army training also snapped in to gear.
BLITZER: What was going through your mind?
DEHAVEN: My -- my Army training. I spent six-and-a-half years in the Army and two -- two tours in Iraq -- was -- was going through my head. And I figured I -- I could do something.
I'd -- I've had some -- some experience in triage and -- and battlefield with IEDs and RPGs and gunfire. And -- and that's the first thought was maybe I could help, because I'm more used to dealing with traumatic situations like that. I have a clear head and a calm head -- to try to help those people. And luckily I did.

Joe Stack, Austin 'Suicide' Pilot, Co-owned Hangar With Homeland Security Initiative Program Manager?
Here is the document I originally found linked from a page on the Austinist website:

Who is John Podolak?
From the L-3 website:
John Podolak to Oversee Transition of Team’s Anti-Missile System to Commercial Applications
AUSTIN, Texas, February 25, 2004 - AVISYS, Inc., a defense technologies and system integration company, today announced John Podolak as the infrared countermeasure (IRCM) program manager for its Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Counter-MANPADS (Man-Portable Air Defense Systems) initiative. Podolak will oversee a strong team of more than 10 IRCM defense suppliers who will perform research studies and lead the transition of the team’s proposed CAPS (Commercial Airliner Protection System) technology to the airline industry.
In keeping with an “airline-centric” solution, Podolak brings a wealth of commercial aviation experience to the United Airlines (OTCBB: UALAQ: OB) led team. The team was one of the three companies awarded a $2 million contract in early January by the DHS Counter-MANPADS Special Projects Office. The award represents Phase I of a two-year, $100 million DHS research and development program to design and demonstrate infrared countermeasures) against the potential MANPADS missile threat to U.S. commercial airliners. AVISYS is the IRCM technology lead and systems architect for CAPS.
"Having led teams that load and maintain expendable countermeasures (ALE-39) and having trained pilots to defensively employ them, John Podolak is the perfect choice to lead the transition of this technology to the airline industry with our team," said Ron Gates, president of AVISYS, Inc. "CAPS provides an affordable and highly effective countermeasures capability for both wide- and narrow-body aircraft. John and his experienced IRCM team will help prove CAPS is the best solution for DHS and the commercial airline industry."
Podolak is a veteran pilot of two major airlines, having flown several U.S. commercial aircraft including the A-320 and B-727. As a former naval officer flying the S-3B Viking, Podolak served as a Weapons Training Officer and as an Avionics/Armament and Quality Assurance Division Officer.
"Our team is a highly qualified mix of companies experienced in all aspects of the aviation industry and in airborne self-protection systems," said John Podolak, IRCM program manager for AVISYS DHS Counter-MANPADS Program. "We will work to define a system design and implementation approach for our CAPS solution while being sensitive to the demands of airline operations."
A Naval Academy graduate, Podolak recently served as a reservist at Central Command during the Iraq war. Since then, he has been serving as a program manager in support of AVISYS Air Force operations in San Antonio, Texas. Podolak is also a flight instructor and an award winning aerobatic and glider pilot with experience in over 50 different aircraft.
On the Prison Planet Forum was also a link to this:

i.e. the last flight recorded on this webpage (which apparently tracks flight transponders)with the plane N2889D (alleged Austin crash plane) was on August 6, 2009. As FreeinTX wrote on the Prison Planet Forum page "This plane may still be in a hangar at GTU."
Also another link posted by the DukeOfDorch on the ATS message board also revealed a similar webpage of recorded flights.

Malware In Use
I didn't want to mention it at first, as I thought it might just be me. But now I have come across someone else on another board who noticed it as well, so out with it.
If you do many searches on google investigating the case of Joe Stack and the Austin crash you will find yourself running in to malware and viruses set up along your path. Try googling "echelon building tenants austin" and you get something like this:

or sometimes like this:

If you click on some of the middle ones you get a virus or malware program of some sort which requires a bit of clicking to get rid of. It might look like this:

After which some program begins doing something. A few clicks and it's gone however.
Other times searching for similar Joe Stack and Austin crash or echelon related info I got a virus program that looked like this:

If you have also been having these problems, leave a comment. I have never had this particular problem before and so I took notice of it, especially after I found someone else complaining about it on another board doing 'Stack' research.
Any computer experts out there might have a better idea about it then I.

Last Straws And Loose Ends
Joe Stack played in several bands in Austin. One was called "Last Straw." In an AP article carried by the New York Times and others we learn of Simone Wensink who was the singer of the band and had flown with him to New Mexico. "I felt like totally safe with this man,'' she said.
In a Los Angeles Times article entitled Austin pilot 'was always even-keeled' we learn of bandmate Billy Eli who had this to say of Stack: "Anger was not even 1% of what that man was," Eli said. As for politics and policy, "he wasn't passionately married to any of that stuff."
From another AP article:
Stack's daughter from his first marriage, Samantha Dawn Bell, said the Web manifesto didn't sound like the father she knew.
"It's not him. The letter itself sounds like it's coming from a different person," she said in an interview from her home in Norway.
But meanwhile on Fox news, the sense of bewilderment is replaced with unfurled flags and the adoration of the American hero who used his ladder to save trapped people from the massive towering inferno strangely created by a small single engine plane.
You have to smile a little as the newscaster says things like "a guy who happens to work for a glass company, who happens to be on the scene of chaos, and climbs up HIS ladder, to rescue five people out of a burning building. Robin Dehaven joins me now on camera. Robin, what a pleasure to lay eyes on you." Notice how she remembers to squeeze in that he is a 'father' and 'served in the military' at the end. Reminded me a little of Kimberly D. Munley, the hero of Fort Hood. This is the manner in which she was described previously in a Daily Mail article:
Mother of one Sergeant Kimberley Munley confronted gunman Nidal Malik Hasan and, despite being wounded in both legs, brought him down with four shots.
One of the shots cut an artery in her leg, leaving blood pumping out but she still managed to keep firing before collapsing.
Medic Francisco Delaserna applied a tourniquet to Sgt Munley as she drifted in and out of consciousness because of blood loss.
'I cut her trousers open, tied a tourniquet around her thigh and stopped the bleeding. But she had already lost a lot of blood,' he said.
Only later did we find out that according to a witness it was someone else who actually shot and brought down Hasan, as covered in this New York Times article.
Well, I guess she brought down Hasan about as much as Jessica Lynch went down fighting (her rifle jammed) with the Iraqis, which is good enough for the Army. Dehaven sounds honest enough and his story plausible though so let's move on for now.
Back to the Fox video. Big fire in the background isn't it? I guess it's just in the luck of the draw since sometimes it ends up like this:

That photo is from this article about another less explosive crash. In fact a piece on KXAN of Austin below shows that experts are questioning how so much fire was caused by such a small plane. So now there is mention of a possible 'fuel drum' aboard the plane.
A new audio has surfaced on youtube, which is unverified, but seems to show the audio recording of Mr. Stack speaking with the control tower before his last flight.
Here is what some claim is his voice mail.
Another Los Angeles Times article also mentions an interesting fact:
Despite his financial ups and downs, Stack did well enough to indulge his interest in flying. He obtained his first pilot's license in 1994 and had owned a costly Velocity Elite XL-RG plane in addition to the Piper.
One is listed here on the web as selling used for $119,500. His 1979 Piper Dakota N2889D already posted on Political Friendster might have also have cost him as much. See price list.
In his 'Manifesto,' another thing confounds me. In a tone of slight hysteria, he seems to claim that after 9/11 his business prospects were down the drain.
Then came the .COM bust and the 911 nightmare. Our leaders decided that all aircraft were grounded for what seemed like an eternity; and long after that, ‘special’ facilities like San Francisco were on security alert for months. This made access to my customers prohibitively expensive. Ironically, after what they had done the Government came to the aid of the airlines with billions of our tax dollars … as usual they left me to rot and die while they bailed out their rich, incompetent cronies WITH MY MONEY! After these events, there went my business but not quite yet all of my retirement and savings.
How can this be since from his client list and our last post we know he was working to a large degree for defense contractors?
Have a look at a what a defense expert says of the industry within which Stack was operating and how it fared after 9/11.
The defense companies are sitting extremely well right now. They have just come off nine years of tremendous growth, they all have great balance sheets, and they all have been buying back their own stock and are sitting on a ton of cash. With the projections going from 30,000 troops in Afghanistan at the beginning of 2009 to 100,000 over the next six months, Afghanistan is going to grow while Iraq is going down in terms of the number of troops. So overall funding and appropriations are going up for the defense group, which is a positive.
And finally Prison Planet and many others are reporting that from the code of the Microsoft word file of the Manifesto it can be clearly seen that the document was revised 27 times in two days, having started the Manifesto on the 16th of February. This seems to clearly contradict with the Manifesto itself which says he worked months on it in the third sentance.
The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken.

Prison Planet Source Says FBI Knew Austin Would Be Attacked; Fire Truck and Hazmat on Scene BEFORE attack
A Prison Planet source told them "that the FBI knew Austin was going to be attacked today and had dispatched officers from its Dallas headquarters yesterday afternoon to be in place for today’s incident.
The source claims that a confidential memo was circulated yesterday detailing that a building in Austin was going to be the target of an attack today. He was told this by an informant who works in the Dallas FBI office."
More in their new article.
Also in a special broadcast live on the internet Alex Jones reported that emergency crews were also on the scene BEFORE the attack.
Here is a video below where at 2:55 a young woman reports that a fire truck and Hazmat crew were already on the scene WHEN the attack occured.
