It's getting pretty obvious that Strauss Kahn was set up, most likely by Sarkozy. Not that such a thing should surprise anyone.
From The Guardian.
New questions have been raised about the events in the New York hotel room where the former International Monetary Fund head and French politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn was alleged to have sexually assaulted a hotel maid.
The case against Strauss-Kahn was eventually dramatically dropped by a Manhattan court, but the scandal forced him to resign his IMF post and destroyed his chances of becoming the leading leftwing candidate to challenge Nicolas Sarkozy for the French presidency.
An exhaustively researched article in the New York Review of Books, published by veteran American investigative journalist Edward Jay Epstein, has cast fresh doubt on exactly what happened in the Sofitel hotel room on 14 May between Strauss-Kahn and his accuser, Guinean-born maid Nafissatou Diallo.
In passages sure to delight Strauss-Kahn supporters and conspiracy theorists, Epstein's lengthy article studied hotel door key and phone records and traced links to Strauss-Kahn's potential political rivals, appearing to suggest the possibility that he had been set up.

Civilians join Gaddafi fighters to defend hometown

Oh weren't we supposed to be helping the 'civilians' who are now fighting your islamist radical forces dear Obama, Sarkozy, and Cameron? They don't want to be ruled by your brutal 'freedom fighters?' Just keep hiting them with the Apaches and killing lots of civilians and you will eventually get your oil. Such 'good guys.' There are claims in the article you killed 357 civilians overnight. But that means nothing. Hell, you will kill thousands, hundreds of thousands, and still sell yourselves as 'peace makers.'
From Reuters.
"There have been heavy clashes since this morning," NTC fighter, Mahmoud Terbelu, said as he stood in the middle of a large roundabout littered with bullet casings.
"There has been some resistance from civilians, volunteers. They're above the buildings with Kalashnikovs, anti-aircraft guns, rockets and other weapons," he said...
Many fighters said sniper fire still posed a challenge to the advance as well as the presence of civilians.
Gaddafi spokesman, Moussa Ibrahim, told Reuters on Saturday that NATO airstrikes on Sirte had killed 357 civilians overnight -- an allegation NATO said may be unfounded.

Why Gaddafi got a red card
From Asia Times
...As already reported by Asia Times Online, this war started in October 2010 when Gaddafi's chief of protocol, Nuri Mesmari, defected to Paris, was approached by French intelligence and for all practical purposes a military coup d'etat was concocted, involving defectors in Cyrenaica.
Sarko had a bag full of motives to exact revenge on The Big G.
French banks had told him that Gaddafi was about to transfer his billions of euros to Chinese banks. Thus Gaddafi could not by any means become an example to other Arab nations or sovereign funds.
French corporations told Sarko that Gaddafi had decided not to buy Rafale fighters anymore, and not to hire the French to build a nuclear plant; he was more concerned in investing in social services.
Energy giant Total wanted a much bigger piece of the Libyan energy cake - which was being largely eaten, on the European side, by Italy's ENI, especially because Premier Silvio "bunga bunga" Berlusconi, a certified Big G fan, had clinched a complex deal with Gaddafi.
Thus the military coup was perfected in Paris until December; the first popular demonstrations in Cyrenaica in February - largely instigated by the plotters - were hijacked. The self-promoting philosopher Bernard Henri-Levy flew his white shirt over an open torso to Benghazi to meet the "rebels" and phone Sarkozy, virtually ordering him to recognize them in early March as legitimate (not that Sarko needed any encouragement).
The TNC was invented in Paris, but the United Nations also duly gobbled it up as the "legitimate" government of Libya - just as NATO did not have a UN mandate to go from a no-fly zone to indiscriminate "humanitarian" bombing, culminating with the current siege of Sirte...

Was it a Political Conspiracy? Prosecutors Back Off From Their ‘Iron-Clad’ Case Against Strauss-Kahn
From Global Research
by Paul Craig Roberts
The New York prosecutor has had to tell the judge that the police and prosecutors have lost confidence in their sexual assault case against former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn. The judge has released DSK from house arrest and returned his bail and bond money.
The prosecutors say that the immigrant hotel maid lied to the police about the incident and about other things, and the police have revealed that the “victim” discussed with an imprisoned man the possibility of turning the case into extortion. According to the New York Times, the maid’s jailed confidant was among a number of people who had made multiple cash deposits totaling $100,000 to the maid’s bank account. The police now suspect that the maid has connections to illegal drugs and money laundering.
The prosecutor says that he will continue to investigate the case. What that means is that the prosecutor, a politically ambitious Cy Vance, is going for a misdemeanor plea from DSK to save the prosecutor’s face from injudiciously being drawn into an extortion/reputation-destroying plot against the man who French polls indicated was the public’s favorite in the upcoming French presidential election in which President Sarkozy, Washington’s puppet, is seeking reelection. The prosecutor is sending DSK’s legal team the message that the case is being kept open and could be reinstated unless DSK’s attorneys secure DSK’s permission to negotiate a deal on a minor charge, which essentially has no punishment, but saves the faces of the NY prosecutor and police.
We will probably never know whether the maid thought the scheme up on her own or whether it came from Sarkozy’s operatives and their US allies. One indication that DSK’s political enemies are implicated is the fact, made public by the French press, that Sarkozy’s political team in France knew about DSK’s arrest before the NY police announced it. This fact did not stop the NY prosecutor and police from painting DSK as guilty in numerous public statements and in unethical if not illegal leaks to reporters.
When police and prosecutors convict a suspect in the media before he is even charged, it typically means that there is no evidence against him and that demonization is serving as the substitute. Conviction is what is important to the system, not a determination of innocence or guilt.
On numerous Internet sites, I pointed out the problems with the case against DSK. For informing people of the obvious, I was denounced by the right-wing and the left-wing.
The right-wing gave me the finger for doubting the word and integrity of police and prosecutor. Didn’t I know that these are the honorable guardians who protect the public from crime? How dare I question anything the police and prosecutor did or do. What was I, some kind of pinko-liberal-commie?
The left-wing also gave me the finger and said that I had revealed my real self as nothing but an apologist for the rich and powerful and for men who seduce women. How much was I paid for my service to the rich and powerful and seducers of innocent women?
The feminist left denounced me as a misogynist. Only a woman-hater could take the side of a rapist against his victim.
It is all so tiresome to endure the stupidity of people. Little wonder they are losing their liberty, their jobs and incomes, and their country and self-respect.
With DSK’s reputation in tatters and DSK knocked out of the French presidential election and removed from the IMF, where he was beginning to raise questions about the establishment’s use of the IMF to bail out rich bankers on the backs of poor peasants, the “justice system” has done its work. It is now safer for the authorities to release him than to risk a trial. The shrill bleating of the maid’s legal team signifies their agony at having lost their share of the hoped-to-be extorted millions now that a monetary settlement would clearly indicate obstruction of justice and prison for them all.
Those few who actually care about justice, not only for DSK and everyman, but also for the Greek, Spanish, Irish, and Portuguese people, can find comfort in the fact that apparently DSK had come to New York in order to speak with Nobel economist Joe Stiglitz about a more humane and democratic way to resolve the sovereign debt crisis in Europe than the one imposed by the private creditor banks.
Obviously, anyone who would consult with Stiglitz is perceived by the rich and powerful as a threat to their interest.
However, this obvious fact has made no impression on the left-wing, which has issued its shrill cries that, once again, the money of the rich and powerful has prevailed over law and justice.

Regime Change at the IMF: The Frame-Up of Dominique Strauss-Kahn?
From Global Research
The arrest of IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn has all the appearances of a frame-up ordered by powerful members of the financial establishment, in liaison with France's Nicolas Sarkozy, whose presidency has served the interests of the US at the expense of those of France and the European Union. While there is for the moment no proof of a plot, the unusual circumstances of his arrest and imprisonment require careful examination...
Strauss-Kahn is a member of elite groups who meet behind closed doors. He belongs to the Bildeberger. Categorized as one of the world's most influential persons, he is an academic and politician rather than a banker. In contrast to his predecessors at the IMF, he has no direct affiliation to a banking or financial institution.
But at the same time he is the fall guy. His "gaffe" was to confront the Washington-Wall Street Consensus and push for reforms within the IMF, which challenged America's overriding role within the organization.
The demise of Strauss-Kahn potentially serves to strengthen the hegemony of the US and its control over the IMF at the expense of what former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld called "Old Europe"...
The presidency of Nicolas Sarkozy has, in many regards, become a de facto US "client regime", broadly supportive of US corporate interests in the EU and closely aligned with US foreign policy.
There are two overlapping and interrelated issues in the DSK frame-up hypothesis.
The first pertains to regime change at the IMF, the second to Strauss-Kahn as a candidate in France's forthcoming presidential elections.
Both these processes are tied into the clash between competing US and European economic interests including control over the euro-currency system.
Strauss-Khan as a favorite of the Socialist Party, would have won the presidential elections leading to the demise of "Our Man in Paris" Nicolas Sarkozy. As documented by Thierry Meyssan, the CIA played a central undercover role in destabilizing the Gaullist party and supporting the election of Nicolas Sarkozy (See Operation Sarkozy: How the CIA placed one of its agents at the presidency of the French Republic, Reseau Voltaire, September 4, 2008)
A Strauss-Kahn presidency and a "Socialist" government would have been a serious setback for Washington, contributing to a major shift in Franco-American relations.

Did U.S. 'Frame' Strauss-Kahn Over IMF Economic Forecasts? (Huanqiu, People's Republic of China)
From All Voices
With this article, Beijing has raised the bar on Dominique Strauss-Kahn conspiracy theories. According to this analysis from China's state-controlled Huanqiu, it is reasonable to infer that statistics released while DSK ran the IMF, showing U.S. dollar weakness and forecasting how China's economy would surpass America's by 2016, drove Washington to 'throw' DSK into a U.S. prison...
"At the time [May, 2010], the IMF's sudden forecast was equivalent to sounding the global alarm on the U.S. dollar, or to put it another way, using data to reveal the trend of influence between the U.S. and China. In order to maintain the status of the U.S. dollar, Washington moved to take revenge on Strauss-Kahn. It is fairly safe to infer that by throwing DSK - a man who dared speak the truth - into the prisons of their country, there has been an attempt to keep his mouth shut. Meanwhile, this also dealt a heavy blow to French Socialist Party prospects in the 2012 presidential election, making it far easier for the U.S. to cultivate a "loyal" French government. With this smear in place and DSK's image fatally ruined, IMF forecasts made under his management will also be looked on with suspicion."

Case Against Strauss-Kahn Collapsing
I told you. See? You see how the world functions? See the last sentance of the third paragraph? "Drug dealing and money laundering..." Those are the people who are running the show. If they want to frame you for rape in New York City, they can do it. The NYPD and the media play right along, but the prosecutors didn't. Of course they don't have to do they? He won't be running against Sarkozy now.
From The New York Times and Cryptogon.
The sexual assault case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn is on the verge of collapse as investigators have uncovered major holes in the credibility of the housekeeper who charged that he attacked her in his Manhattan hotel suite in May, according to two well-placed law enforcement officials.
Although forensic tests found unambiguous evidence of a sexual encounter between Mr. Strauss-Kahn, a French politician, and the woman, prosecutors now do not believe much of what the accuser has told them about the circumstances or about herself.
Since her initial allegation on May 14, the accuser has repeatedly lied, one of the law enforcement officials said.
Senior prosecutors met with lawyers for Mr. Strauss-Kahn on Thursday and provided details about their findings, and the parties are discussing whether to dismiss the felony charges. Among the discoveries, one of the officials said, are issues involving the asylum application of the 32-year-old housekeeper, who is Guinean, and possible links to people involved in criminal activities, including drug dealing and money laundering.
The maid was getting paid off from a drug dealer in jail! This part is the best:
“It is a mess, a mess on both sides,” one official said.
According to the two officials, the woman had a phone conversation with an incarcerated man within a day of her encounter with Mr. Strauss-Kahn in which she discussed the possible benefits of pursuing the charges against him. The conversation was recorded.
That man, the investigators learned, had been arrested on charges of possessing 400 pounds of marijuana. He is among a number of individuals who made multiple cash deposits, totaling around $100,000, into the woman’s bank account over the last two years. The deposits were made in Arizona, Georgia, New York and Pennsylvania.
The investigators also learned that she was paying hundreds of dollars every month in phone charges to five companies. The woman had insisted she had only one phone and said she knew nothing about the deposits except that they were made by a man she described as her fiancé and his friends.
In addition, one of the officials said, she told investigators that her application for asylum included mention of a previous rape, but there was no such account in the application.

The Establishment Eliminates A Threat
From Prison Planet.
Paul Craig Roberts
Prisonplanet.com
May 20, 2011
...A New York judge denied Strauss-Kahn bail on the basis of police misrepresentation that he was apprehended fleeing the country.
Once he was imprisoned, the police announced that Strauss-Kahn was on suicide watch, which is a way of suggesting to the public that the accused rapist might take his own life in order to avoid the public humiliation of a guilty verdict from a jury.
But what really happened, assuming one can learn anything from press reports, is that Strauss-Kahn, upon arriving at JFK airport for his scheduled flight, discovered that he did not have his cell phone and telephoned the hotel, the scene of the alleged crime. It boggles the mind that anyone could possibly think that a person fleeing from his crime would call the scene of the crime, ask about his left behind cell phone, and tell them where he was...
Then in rapid succession, reeking of orchestration, a French woman steps forward and declares that a decade ago she was nearly raped by Strauss-Kahn. This was followed by Kristin Davis, the Manhattan Madam of the prostitute who did in Eliot Spitzer before he could get the banksters on Wall Street, stepping forward to announce that one of her call girls refused to service Strauss-Kahn a second time because he was too rough in the act...
..I have written about the anomalies of the case. One of the most striking is the confirmed reports in the French and British press that a political activist for French President Sarkozy, Jonathan Pinet, tweeted the news of Strauss-Kahn’s arrest to Arnaud Dassier, a spin doctor for Sarkozy, before the news was announced by the New York police.
Pinet’s explanation for how he was the first to know is that a “friend” in the Sofitel Hotel, where the alleged crime took place, told him. Is it merely a coincidence that the men assigned the task of removing the Strauss-Kahn threat to French President Sarkozy’s re-election had a clued-in friend in the Sofitel Hotel? Did the police clue-in the “friend” before they made the public announcement? If so, why?
What bothers me about the Strauss-Kahn affair is that if the police have evidence that supports their insistence on his guilt, it is pointless for the police to set Strauss-Kahn up in the media. Generally, set-ups like this occur only when there is no evidence or when the evidence has to be fabricated and cannot withstand examination....
...As a person who had a Washington career, I find other aspects of the case disturbing. Strauss-Kahn had emerged as a threat to the establishment. Polls showed that as the socialist candidate, he was the odds-on favorite to defeat the American candidate, Sarkozy, in the upcoming French presidential election. Perhaps it was only electoral posturing to help defeat Sarkozy, but Strauss-Kahn indicated that he intended to move the International Monetary Fund away from its past policy of making the poor pay for the mistakes of the rich. He spoke of strengthening collective bargaining, and of restructuring mortgages, tax and spending policies in order that the economy would serve ordinary people in addition to the banksters. Strauss-Kahn said that regulation needed to be restored to financial markets and implied that a more even distribution of income was required.
These remarks, together with a likely win over Sarkozy in the French election, made Strauss-Kahn a double-barreled challenge to the establishment. The third strike against him was the recent IMF report that said China would surpass the US as the world’s first economy within five years...

More Evidence Strauss-Kahn Was Set Up By Sarkozy Allies
From The Telegraph
In the then off-the-record discussion on April 28, the International Monetary Fund chief said he could imagine a scenario where he was framed for a rape he did not commit.
The 62-year old was clearly worried about receiving "low blows" from allies of President Nicolas Sarkozy, whom a series of polls suggested prior to the scandal he would beat in next years' elections should he run.
He told reporters he only kept his encrypted IMF one for fear of being eavesdropped by the president's allies...
A recent book on the Socialist party quotes the former spokesman of Mr Sarkozy's UMP party as boasting about incriminating photographs of Mr Strauss-Kahn. But Mr Strauss-Kahn said: "For years people have talked about photos of giant orgies (involving me), but I have never seen anything come out...So why don't they show them?"
He went on to evoke an incident in which he met Mr Sarkozy in the men's room during a G20 summit in Pittsburgh in 2008 and reportedly warned the President to "tell your boys to stop (spreading rumours about my private life) or I'll go to court".
Then Mr Strauss-Kahn told the journalists that he could easily imagine "a woman (who I supposedly) raped in a car park and who had been promised 500,000 or a million euros to invent such a story."
His remark was not the only revelation fuelling conspiracy theories. Another was a Tweet from a French-Canadian political science student in Paris, which appeared on Twitter well before world media broke the story.
Jonathan Pinet, a youth activist in President Sarkozy's UMP party, wrote "a mate in the US just told me that DSK's been arrested in a hotel in NYC an hour ago". A second, three minutes later, read: "I got it from a friend of his who works at the hotel".
A blogger on Le Post, a news website, pointed out that the tweet was posted at 4.59pm New York Time, just 10 minutes after Mr Strauss-Kahn was seized on an Air France plane. Mr Pinet had said he had been arrested an hour previously in his hotel, raising questions on how he had obtained the information so fast.
Commentators and legal experts questioned why the French public had been so little informed of his past run-ins with women...

Strauss-Kahn, France's would-be president, Set Up By Corrupt Sarkozy/Neoliberal Globalists?
From Reuters.
(Reuters) - IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn, facing sexual assault charges in New York, was the front-runner in the latest opinion polls to win next year's presidential election in France and replace incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy...
The polls have consistently shown Strauss-Kahn, who has yet to officially declare his candidacy, trouncing Sarkozy and leading all other potential challengers in the presidential election next April and May.
That was until the shock news of his arrest in New York over an alleged sexual assault on a hotel maid. Prosecutors charged him on Sunday with a criminal sexual act, attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment. Strauss-Kahn's lawyer said he would plead not guilty...

CHAINSAW MASSACRE: U.S. and Nato backed Libyan Rebels Behead Surrendered Gaddafi Troops With Chainsaw. Your tax dollars at work.
Here is a good look up close and personal at our "brothers in arms," the freedom fighters that Mccain, Obama, Kissinger and Sarkozy are supporting. Suddenly Al-Qaeda are our pals now? If this were on CNN on Easter sunday I think many would vomit up their nice dinner, suddenly being forced to see the truth instead of the lie. If we were the good guys, we would be hoping that Gaddafi puts an end to these brutal fanatics. Instead McCain even goes so far as to call them 'heroes.'
What was that someone was saying about an uprising of lawyers, professors and teachers? Lies.
More information about the insanity in Libya can be found here.
Here is another video of Gaddafi troops killed by a French airstrike.

King Hypocrite Obama: There Will be Blood in Libya
This invasion/air attack of Libya isn't about civilians. There are civilians all over getting shot in countries we support such as Yemen, or Bahrain. Who knows what is really happening in Libya in any case. The mainstream media is only a propaganda organ of the imperialist war machine which is skilled in creating false propaganda and lies. In any case, the imperialists want their oil, and they want Gadhafi out. This whole middle east situation will end in tears as the plans of the empire builders and grand chess board players have grown too big and too absurd even for them. The Western World truly seems like a house of cards, or even worse, a desperate poker player.

On Friday, the teleprompter reader in chief and NCAA basketball picker Obama bellied up to the podium in the East Room of the White House and read his script. He said Libyan thug Moammar Gadhafi has to stop attacking civilians or face military retaliation.
“Left unchecked, we have every reason to believe that Gadhafi would commit atrocities against his people. Many thousands could die. A humanitarian crisis would ensue. The entire region could be destabilized, endangering many of our allies and partners,” Obama read from the teleprompter.
“These terms are not subject to negotiation,” said Barry, sounding like a Mafia don in a back room meeting between crime families. “If Gadhafi does not comply with the resolution, the international community will impose consequences, and the resolution will be enforced through military action.”
In other words, there will be blood.
Meanwhile, the wife of the man who bombed civilians in Serbia and Iraq with depleted uranium said nothing short of a “decision by Colonel Gadhafi to leave” will prevent cruise missiles from raining down on Libya. The Voice of America – otherwise known as the voice of the U.S. government and the CIA – said Madame Clinton was skeptical of any attempt by Gadhafi and crew to avoid shock and awe.
Translation: the Europeans and their quisling Arab partners will attack Libya no matter what its thug leader in designer Bedouin clothes does.
Obama’s pretend concern for Libyan civilians is especially disgusting considering his inheritance of the neocon campaign to slaughter Iraqi and Afghan civilians.
Barry Obama oversaw the expansion of this organized serial murder effort aimed at the tribal areas of Pakistan where we are told the intelligence asset al-Qaeda has settled (as the showtime terror group invariably settles in places on the bombing schedule).
In an absurd and completely transparent half-ass effort to mask the truth about the Pentagon’s killing sprees, the United Nations claimed that only 80 Afghan civilians were killed last year in U.S. military operations in Afghanistan.
In fact, 2010 was the deadliest year to date for civilians in the Afghan “war” with 2,777 killed, a figure that represents a 15 percent jump in the death toll over the previous year. Large numbers of children and women were among the dead — 1,175 and 555 respectively, the AFP reported last week...
