What Chase & Goldman Sachs did to Greece

An alternative explanation for europe's fiscal problems different then the commonly heard ' the greeks are lazy and they retire too early'...

From America Blog.

In other words, banks like Chase and Goldman knowingly larded up the nation of Greece with a crippling future debt burden, then turned around and helped the world bet against Greek debt. ... [D]oes a human being do that deal?

Operations like the Greek swap/short index maneuver were easy money for banks like Goldman and Chase – hell, it’s a no-lose play, like cutting a car’s brake lines and then betting on the driver to crash – but they helped create the monstrous European debt problem that this very minute is threatening to send the entire world economy into collapse, which would result in who knows what horrors.
The world of propaganda news — the world of "what everyone knows" (the propagandist's best friend) — won't change because you now know what the bankers did to Greece.

Yes, the government was eagerly corrupted. But an addict needs a seducer, a leech, an enabler, someone to bleed his wallet in trade for his supply. That leech, that predator, is the international branch of the U.S. banking system.

It's the leech that caused the crisis in Greece; and the leech that marketed the evils of one bad addict as the reason the entire continent needs to go on food stamps for a generation or so.

Sweet deal, being a banker. Sort of a racket, wouldn't you say? On some planet, they call it organized crime. On others they call it a public-private partnership.

Either way it's looting.

Goldman Target of ’Occupy’ West Coast Protests

From Bloomberg.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), the fifth- biggest U.S. bank by assets, is a major target of Occupy Wall Street demonstrators who plan to blockade ports from Anchorage to San Diego to cut into profits of the company they blame for helping spur the financial crisis.

“They represent the greed of the corporate elite, the 1 percent that’s causing ruin for everybody else,” Michael Novick, a member of Occupy Los Angeles, said of Goldman Sachs in a Dec. 7 telephone interview. The Occupy movement’s slogan is, “We are the 99 percent.”

Demonstrators today hope to disrupt the largest U.S. and Canadian container ports -- Los Angeles, Long Beach and Vancouver -- as well as Anchorage; Seattle and Tacoma, Washington; Portland, Oregon, and San Diego and Oakland, California. The economic value of containerized cargo at West Coast ports is about $705 million a day, according to Martin Associates in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Los Angeles protesters circulated a flyer -- “Occupy the Ports! A Day Without Goldman Sachs!” -- featuring a caricature of Chief Executive Officer Lloyd C. Blankfein steering a ship loaded with bags of money. The company is part-owner of Carrix Inc., whose SSA Marine provides cargo handling services as the largest U.S.-owned container terminal operator.
Andrea Raphael, a spokeswoman for the New York-based bank, declined to comment on the protest.

Senate Panel Says Goldman Misled Clients, Lawmakers on CDOs (1)

From Bloomberg.

April 13 (Bloomberg) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. designed, marketed and sold collateralized debt obligations that misled investors and created conflicts of interest as the company built short positions before the U.S. housing market collapsed, a Senate panel said in its report on the financial crisis...

...The Senate report also faults Deutsche Bank AG, saying the Frankfurt-based company created a $1.1 billion CDO with assets that its traders referred to as “crap” and then attempted to sell “before the market falls off a cliff.”

Transocean Sachs Golden Awards For Twin Eco Disasters

From Max Keiser.

Goldman Sachs Doubles Blankfein’s 2010 Pay to $19 Million

Transocean gives bonuses after Gulf of Mexico BP spill

Sin is washed away with bonus money. The bigger the sin – the more a company destroys the ecology or the economy – the bigger bonus they get. The media equates more money with greater moral authority. The more money you make, the more moral authority you have...

Of course Karl Rove summed it up best when he said:

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors ... and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

This is the arrogance that will bring down America. If you don't want to go down with the ship, consider leaving the country or at least leaving the currency, the U.S. Dollar.

Inside Job, Oscar-Winning Documentary, Now Online (Free)

Besides the annoying music at the beginning of this film, it's basically a very good introduction to the corruption of the American financial system, and its dangers.

The film is free to watch online at Open Culture.

Here below is a Charlie Rose interview with the director about the film:

"Inside Job" - Academy Award Winner Best Documentary Feature - 2011

From Brasscheck TV

Sometimes the good guys win.

If you haven't see it yet, it's worth your time.

Talk it up.

There should not be a doubt in anyone's mind that Goldman Sachs et. al. have gotten away with the financial equivalent of mass murder.

Bushbama has done nothing. The Congress has done nothing. And these jackals continue to loot your savings, your pension, your ability to earn an income and save for your future and opportunity for your children and their children with impunity.

Max Keiser, Rodney Shakespeare and Rollin Amore on Press TV’s News Analysis program

Notice how the guy from Washington is defending the banks. That's the typical American response. Caught in the grips of false Republican and Wall Street propaganda, the only answer Americans can find is, blame it on the little guy. Blame it on the poor and those who need social security or food stamps, because JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs can do no wrong. That's why I am most concerned about the USA. It seems in the USA the answer to everything is always to parrot what the financial and military establishment wants us to say. At least other countries recognize they are being robbed, and also who is robbing them.

Kaiser Report #64

The Ruling Elite Called

Please go to the links provided and read this text in full. It's really very good.

From Zerohedge and The Burning Platform.

I just got off the horn with the Ruling Elite. We had an emergency conference call and to tell you the truth, they ain’t happy. You little people are not responding the way you are supposed to. A significant portion of you are not getting more optimistic because they tell you to. Instead of just reading the headline on Bloomberg that durable goods orders skyrocketed in June, you actually read the details that said durable goods orders plunged. It is getting difficult for the ruling elite to keep the masses sedated and dumbed down. These damn bloggers, with their facts and critical thinking, are throwing a wrench into the gears. Obama and his crack team are working round the clock to lock down the internet, but it will take time. Not that they are totally dissatisfied. They’ve been able to renovate their penthouses and purchase new mansions in the Hamptons with the billions in bonuses you supplied through TARP. The $1.2 trillion supplied by your children and grandchildren to buy up toxic mortgages off their balances sheets was a godsend. They will never call you suckers, to your face...

Goldman Sachs Tied To Destructive, Marginally Effective, Oil Dispersant Used In Gulf Oil Disaster; NYT In Silent Collusion

From Picasso Dreams.

If for no other reason that Goldman Sachs is newsworthy, I think that their $4.3 billion purchase of Nalco in 2003 would be worth mentioning, especially in light of their short trade on TransOcean. The shorts are another missing item in the business section of The Times, as is any information on Goldman’s role in the 9-11 put options on American and United for that matter. “All the lies that are fit to print...” on their banner would be more apropos. Seems someone is treating the demon children at GS with kid gloves...

Goldman Sachs "An Angel" According To Marc Faber

Marc Faber sees the latest Goldman investigations more as a PR move to appease the angry masses. "They targeted Goldman because it stands as a symbol of Wall Street, plus it's also Isreal, you understand?...And now they go after Goldman Sachs to distract the attention of the people and target the minority, Wall Street and Goldman Sachs. And maybe the intention is not to hurt Goldman Sachs, but just to gain popularity with the middle class and the lower classes of America, so they will perceive Mr.Obama to have done something against the evil Wall Street."

Here is the link to the MSNBC video and article.

Update: There is also an article about him on Kitco where he downplays the precious metals market manipulation claims.

Now we know the truth. The financial meltdown wasn't a mistake – it was a con

From The Guardian.

Will Hutton
The Observer, Sunday 18 April 2010
Article history

The global financial crisis, it is now clear, was caused not just by the bankers' colossal mismanagement. No, it was due also to the new financial complexity offering up the opportunity for widespread, systemic fraud. Friday's announcement that the world's most famous investment bank, Goldman Sachs, is to face civil charges for fraud brought by the American regulator is but the latest of a series of investigations that have been launched, arrests made and charges made against financial institutions around the world. Big Finance in the 21st century turns out to have been Big Fraud...Read more.
