Nato contractors 'attacking own vehicles' in Pakistan

Nato supply convoys travelling through Pakistan to Afghanistan have regularly come under attack in the past, but following Pakistan's decision to block their route through the Khyber Pass, they now face an even bigger security threat.
Hundreds of tankers and trucks have been left stranded on highways and depots across Pakistan, with little or no security.
Taliban militants have regularly been targeting the convoys, even when they are heavily protected.
But many believe it is not just the militants who pose a security threat to the convoys.
The owners of oil tankers being used to supply fuel to Nato in Afghanistan say some of the attacks on their convoys are suspicious.
They say there is evidence to suggest that bombs have been planted in many of vehicles by the "Nato contractors" - individuals or companies who have been contracted by Nato to supply fuel and goods to forces in Afghanistan.
The contractors subsequently hire the transporters who then carry the goods.
Selling fuel
Dost Mohammad, an oil tanker owner from Nowshera district, said a Nato contractor had recently been caught trying to plant a bomb in an oil tanker.
"This happened in the area of Paiyee, when he was putting the bomb under the vehicle."
"At that time, a few men also opened fire on the tankers. The deputy later told the police that he had been told to plant the bomb by the contractor."
Dost Mohammad said the contractor had apparently sold off the fuel first.
"Only 2,000 litres from the original 50,000 litres had been left in the tanker to cover up the crime," he said...

Government Seizes Newborn Baby Over Political Beliefs Of Parents

A newborn baby was ripped from its mother’s arms by officials from the New Hampshire Division of Family Child Services accompanied by police last night after authorities cited the parents’ association with the Oath Keepers organization as one of the primary reasons for the snatch, heralding a shocking new level of persecution where Americans’ political beliefs are now being used by the state to kidnap children.
What was supposed to be one of the most joyous occasions of their lives turned into a nightmare for John Irish and Stephanie Janvrin, after they were told by The Director of Security and the Head Nurse at Concord Hospital that their baby would be taken to be checked by the hospital pediatrician.
“They lied to us – they got us to allow them to take our daughter under false pretenses, we didn’t even have a choice,” said Irish.
When Irish tried to stop his daughter being taken, the baby was immediately wheeled out in a bassinet, after which Irish saw three men in suits accompanied by uniformed police officers as well as detectives and social workers. who proceeded to try to search Irish.

A US terror alert issued this week about al-Qaida plots to attack targets in western Europe was politically motivated and not based on credible new information, senior Pakistani diplomats and European intelligence officials have told the Guardian.
The non-specific US warning, which despite its vagueness led Britain, France and other countries to raise their overseas terror alert levels, was an attempt to justify a recent escalation in US drone and helicopter attacks inside Pakistan that have "set the country on fire", said Wajid Shamsul Hasan, the high commissioner to Britain.
Hasan, a veteran diplomat who is close to Pakistan's president, suggested the Obama administration was playing politics with the terror threat before next month's mid-term congressional elections, in which the Republicans are expected to make big gains.
He also claimed President Obama was reacting to pressure to demonstrate that his Afghan war strategy and this year's troop surge, which are unpopular with the American public, were necessary.
"I will not deny the fact that there may be internal political dynamics, including the forthcoming mid-term American elections. If the Americans have definite information about terrorists and al-Qaida people, we should be provided [with] that and we could go after them ourselves," Hasan said.
"Such reports are a mixture of frustrations, ineptitude and lack of appreciation of ground realities. Any attempt to infringe the sovereignty of Pakistan would not bring about stability in Afghanistan, which is presumably the primary objective of the American and Nato forces."
Dismissing claims of a developed, co-ordinated plot aimed at Britain, France and Germany, European intelligence officials also pointed the finger at the US, and specifically at the White House. "To stitch together [the terror plot claims] in a seamless narrative is nonsensical," said one well-placed official.
While Abdul Jabbar, a Briton, and others killed by an American drone strike on 8 September in North Waziristan, in Pakistan's tribal areas, were heard discussing co-ordinated plots, including possible "commando-style" attacks on prominent buildings and tourist sites in European capitals, security and intelligence officials said the plots were nowhere near fruition.
The officials did not deny the men, and other foreign-born jihadi recruits who travel to the tribal areas for indoctrination and training, represented a potentially serious threat. "You have discussions about all sorts of things – that does not necessarily mean there is anything concrete. It is not easy to set up groups," said one counter-terrorism official.
By making it clear that the US drone strikes were pre-emptive, and were not in any way combating an imminent threat, European officials raised fresh questions – this time directly involving a British national – about the legality of the attacks, which could be viewed as assassinations.
They said Washington was the "driver" behind claims about a series of "commando-style" plots and that the CIA – perhaps because it was worried about provoking unwelcome attention to its drone strikes – was also extremely annoyed by the publicity given to them.

The ADL claims that visuals accompanying the song “Goodbye Blue Sky” on Waters’ latest tour of the seminal 1979 Pink Floyd album The Wall, are intended as “a comment about Jews and money.”
The backdrop, which can be seen in the video below, features huge dark bomber planes dropping a series of red symbols, which culminate in a sea of blood on the landscape below.
The symbols include crosses, a hammer and sickle, a crescent and star, a Mercedes logo and a Shell Oil logo, yet the ADL sees the inclusion of a Star of David along with Dollar signs as reprehensible...

The Improbable Story of Darkazanli.
Let's go with the official story for a second and see where it takes us on this one:
One of the close contacts of the 9/11 Hamburg cell, also with contacts to Osama Bin Laden, is a leader at a Mosque in Hamburg named Darkanzanli. He reportedly received $250,000 from a known Saudi intelligence front company in the 90s, and some even claim he chose the 9/11 Hijackers. Guess what? He was allowed to continue living freely in Hamburg after 9/11. Guess what else? The CIA tried through German intelligence to turn him into an informant before 9/11.
He is now in the news because ABC News has reported that one cell of the recent European terror plots has been traced to this same Mosque in Hamburg where Darkazanli is a leader. As shown in the ABC video, this Darkazanli is now wrapped up yet again in a new terror plot, and yet remains in Hamburg living freely.
One possibility could be that he is a CIA informant and for this reason is left alone. In any case, his true role seems as opaque as his name to english ears sounds.

Susan Reverby, a women's studies professor at Wellesley College in Massachusetts, has uncovered a dark moment in recent American history. In their zeal to learn more about sexually-transmitted diseases, medical researchers working for the U.S. government in the late 1940s used prostitutes and shots to infect hundreds of people from Guatemala with gonorrhea and syphilis. Moreover, officials then encouraged the infected to pass their diseases on. The tests, co-sponsored by agencies meant to protect people, including the U.S. Public Health Service, the National Institutes of Health, the Pan American Health Organization, and Guatemala's government, were conducted on 696 male and female subjects in a national mental hospital. Researchers wanted to know whether penicillin was a good enough antibiotic to prevent infections, according to Reverby in her report (pdf).
It was not clear whether the subjects of the study were given treatment afterwords.
But today U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Health and U.S. Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius are saying they are sorry...

Amtrak is holding a high-security exercise on Friday in which uniformed officers will be a visible presence on national transit routes. RailSafe will include all the local police agencies along the Amtrak routes involved in the exercise. Amtrak’s counterparts in Europe and Britain will also be holding an exercise called “Rail Action Day” on Friday, according to a senior Amtrak official in the security sector.
A senior DHS official said the exercise is “long-planned” and “is not connected in any way” to the terror threat in Europe.
