TSA agents at a Houston airport failed to stop an Iranian-American with a loaded handgun passing through security and boarding a plane, yet they did stop a woman directly behind him who was carrying liquids in her hand luggage.

NYC Legislators Seek Ban On Full Body Scanners In New York

New York — Today on the steps of City Hall, Councilman David G. Greenfield was joined by Council Members Gale Brewer, Fernando Cabrera, Debi Rose, Robert Jackson, Jumaane Williams, and Brad Lander in support of legislation that would ban the use of full body scanners in New York City, including New York’s two airports – JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. The Council Members were also joined by privacy expert Marc Rotenberg, a professor of law at Georgetown University and President of the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), who is leading a lawsuit to suspend the deployment of body scanners at US airports, pending an independent review.

Michael Chertoff supervised the "relief efforts" in New Orleans after the levee failures.

He managed the investigation of 9/11.

Now he's helping railroad the full-body X-ray machines he ordered BEFORE the so-called "underwear bomber" incident into US airports - and getting paid for it.

He needs to see the inside of a courtroom and, if there is justice, a jail cell too.

Airport security is serious business and, increasingly, it is also big business; TSA plans to deploy as many as 1,800 full-body scanner at U.S. airports by the end of 2014; at $170,000 a scanner, this is a $300 million proposition...

...A group of researchers from the University of California San Francisco warned that X-rays from the Rapiscan devices in particular might pose a danger because radiation energy, though a low dose, is focused on the skin.

“There is good reason to believe that these scanners will increase the risk of cancer to children and other vulnerable populations,” the researchers wrote. “We are unanimous in believing that the potential health consequences need to be rigorously studied before these scanners are adopted.”...
